Ken Block has already gone all in with Audi. He found the brand with four rings a suitable partner, especially since Audi is a legend of sorts in the world of rallying. Ken just became a new owner of a winter-themed Audi RS e-tron GT. Since this high-performance electric car should not sit idle in a garage, Ken took the Audi out for some “scientific” measurements of its electrifying capabilities.

Audi’s New Halo Is The Fastest RS-Badged Production Car

The RS e-tron GT is the newest Audi halo taken to the next level of high performance. Audi touts it as the fastest RS badged production car on earth, and the RS e-tron GT really has the numbers to prove its credentials. After all, the RS e-tron GT features a dual-motor setup with an overboost capability, allowing it to produce more horsepower in a short period of time.

Audi tagged the electric drive system of the RS e-tron GT as able to deliver 590 hp of output and 612 lb-ft of instant torque. However, once the driver activates the car’s overboost function, front and rear motors can deliver up to 637 hp. This should allow the RS e-tron GT to accelerate from nil to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, although there have been tests that the EV can achieve a quicker time at under three seconds.

Measuring Straight Line Numbers With A Stopwatch

Ken surely knows these numbers; he is more than a car guy, after all. But that won’t prevent him from doing his own tests – for the sake of science. While Ken was providing a lesson over figures of speech, he and Neil Cole measured the performance level of his Stormtrooper-like Audi RS e-tron GT with the most scientific thing available – a stopwatch.

In Episode 2 of 6 of “Ken Block’s Electric Fleet,” Ken and Neil worked hard to get time measurements for these: 0-60 mph; 0-100 mph, 100 mph-0, and 0-33 mph in reverse. Well, Ken wouldn’t be the Head Hoonigan In Chief unless he does something eccentric like a 0-33 mph in reverse. Ken justified that run for the sake of science.

Zero To 33 MPH In Reverse In Just 4.7 Seconds

Ken’s best results with the RS e-tron GT were close to Audi’s published numbers. He went from nil to 60 mph in 3.32 seconds and from nil to 100 mph in 7.78 seconds. It took Ken 4.96 seconds to reach a full stop from 100 mph, as well as 4.7 seconds to hit 33 mph in reverse from zero.
