The current Porsche 911 Turbo S is definitely one of the best sports cars to own. It’s wild and powerful enough to rule the road. Nevertheless, this Porsche sports car cannot please everyone. For those who wanted more from a 911 Turbo S, then the new Brabus 820 should be a great proposition to consider.

Powering Up A Porsche 911 Turbo S

A Porsche 911 Turbo S conversion seems a surprise for fans and followers of Brabus. This isn’t surprising, since the company has always been focusing its conversion efforts on vehicles from Mercedes-Benz. This marks the first time that Brabus is taking on a 911, and the resulting creation – the Brabus 820 -- is something to behold

Brabus first focused on the turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engine of the 911 Turbo S. Out of the factory, this mill delivers 640 hp of max output and 590 lb-ft of peak torque. The company employed its own Brabus PowerXtra P38S-820 performance upgrade kit that includes two special Brabus high-performance turbochargers.

Brabus also adapted the electronic engine controls to the new hardware, using its PowerXtra auxiliary control unit. The modifications made resulted in an engine capable of delivering 809 hp of max output at 6,900 rpm and of 701 lb-ft of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. This allows the Brabus 820 to zoom from 0 to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 211 mph.

Brabus also created striking bodywork components out of carbon fiber, as available in either high-gloss or matte sealed finish. These include a front spoiler with flaps, tailor-made carbon elements for the front air intakes, rocker panel-mounted flaps near the rear wheel arches, as well as an exposed-carbon diffuser with cutouts for the 3.9-inch tailpipes of the Brabus sport exhaust system.

The Brabus 820 rides on forged Monoblock Z “Platinum Edition” center-lock wheels in staggered sizes. These rims are wrapped with Continental, Pirelli, or Yokohama high-performance tires (255/30 ZR 21 front and 335/25 ZR 22 rear). Moreover, this converted 911 Turbo S sits height-adjustable sport springs that could lower the front and rear rides by up to an inch.
