The Mercedes-AMG A45 S 4MATIC+ is one of the more desirable compacts you can avail on the market. While it's not super-quick, it's a pocket rocket that can outrun many cars on the road. Nonetheless, Mercedes specialist Brabus has managed to transform the A45 S 4MATIC+ into a quicker bullet called the B45 450.
Enhancing AMG A45 S Power To 443 Horses
Mercedes has its A45 S served by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 416 hp (310 kW) of max output and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of peak torque. Power is sent to the wheels allowing the A45 S to zoom from nil to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds, and reach an electronically limited top speed of 168 mph. While these numbes are quite impressive, Brabus though it could dial the figures up with the B450 performance upgrade
The upgrade transforms the A45 S into the B45 450. As the numbers say it, the Brabus upgrade hikes the power output to 443 hp (331 kW or 450 PS) and the peak torque to 405 lb-ft (550 Nm). Such enhancement in power results to better sprint figures, as the B45 450 can dash from zero to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds, thereby cutting the sprint time by 0.2 seconds. Top speeds remain electronically limited at 168 mph.
A45 S Power Surge By Special Tuning And More
According to Brabus, the hike in power was made possible by a couple of modifications including a special mapping of electronic engine management system and the installation of a Brabus PowerXtra CPC auxiliary control unit, a special duct for the air box as well as the Brabus BoostXtra adapter that allows the mill to deliver a race-car sound.
Aside from the special engine tuning, the performance firm also threw in custom 10-spoke Brabus Monoblock Z 20-inch wheels (black with polished surfaces) shod with Continental 245/30 ZR 20 tires. The compact now features height-adjustable sports springs that lower the ride height by up to 1.2 inches.
Customized Leather Interior Also Available For B45 450
If customers want to, the interior can also be upholstered in fine leather in any color and design. There's also stainless scuff plates with the Brabus logo that can be illuminated in 64 different colors, Brabus aluminum pedals, and velour floor mats also with the Brabus logo.
