Brabus is a German-based tuner that became famous for their tunings and enhancement performed on vehicles from Mercedes-Benz and they are the largest tuner of Mercedes cars other than the AMG side of the Mercedes family. They have now launched something very different, the Brabus 92R, which is based on the smart EQ fortwo cabrio. This unique machine, dubbed the “urban supercar” by Brabus, will be a strictly limited edition with only 50 vehicles to be produced and sold.

City Supercar With Electric Performance

This is a city supercar that is set to be powered by an electric powertrain. That powertrain is rated at 68KW or 92 hp, and that electric power gives the 92R a top speed of 130 km/h or just over 80 mph. This enhancement in power is thanks to the new Sport+ driving mode, upgraded for the 92R. While the 0-60 time of 10.9 seconds is hardly going to rival a LaFerrari or a Tesla, that is not the point of the car. Special coil-over sports suspension is also present, which lowers the car by around 25 millimeters

Exterior Package Enhances Its Appearance

Part of the appeal of the 92R will be the enhanced exterior package aimed at vastly altering the original Smart's appearance. The 92R features tailor-made Brabus monoblock alloy wheels, as well as a central front spoiler and rocker panels. The whole front of the car is totally new, aimed at creating a much sportier style but it can be argued it has quite a menacing appearance. The gloss black finish gives an aggressive stance that perhaps has never really been seen on any Smart car before. This could be one of the craziest cars Brabus has ever created.

Rear-Diffuser Adds Some Extra Aero Performance

While scope for any major aerodynamic benefits is going to be limited with the 92R, that has not stopped Brabus from pursuing them. At the back of the Brabus, there is a new rear-diffuser, accented with red along the leading edge and the strakes that will add some more rear-end grip while also adding to the overall sporty appearance of the car.

Inside, the 92R features red-leather seats complemented by a black dash, steering wheel, and center console with red accents, and a Brabus 92R logo is on the central display. The starting price of this car is 46,284 euros, which roughly equates to around $54,755 USD.
