Bring A Trailer is one of the best sites for classic car listings. They always seem to have some awesome cars listed on their site, and there is always something for everyone. One car that is currently listed on the website is this 1960 Mercedes-Benz 190SL, an incredibly pretty car that is currently located in Portland, Oregon, and was indeed based in Europe originally before coming to the United States in 1961. It was acquired by the father of its current owner in 1977, where it was in California, and relocated to Oregon in 1992 and placed in storage until 2018.

Mercedes can produce some really great looking cars, and this 190SL is certainly up there. That storage time then saw some recommissioning work take place when the car reappeared in 2018. This work was performed by German Master Tech of Bend, Oregon. The work did the trick, as the car took first place in the Preservation Class, at the 47th Annual Forest Grove Concours d’Elegance in 2019.

The car is finished in black which was the color it was in when it left the factory. There is also a factory hardtop that comes with the car, along with some European delivery paperwork, data cards, and a clean Oregon title. Something else that is rare and useful are the service records, which date right back to 1960. So there is plenty of service data to use.

The interior of the car is stunning, befitting a car that is probably quite rare. The bucket seats are upholstered in red leather with a matching dash pad, door panels, and carpets. There are a locking glovebox and a wind-up VDO clock and, typifying the era, there is a two-spoke steering wheel with chrome horn ring frames. There are 50k miles registered on the car's odometer, which is a five-digit one. This rolled over in the 1970s according to the current owner. Power is provided by a 1.9-liter M121 inline-four, that was rebuilt in December 1987 and it has a four-speed manual transmission delivering the power to the wheels.
