How do you make the $3,000,000 Bugatti Chiron even more exclusive and expensive? Ask Manny Khoshbin, owner of a 1-of-1 Hermès Edition Bugatti Chiron that set him back more than $4,000,000 before options.

Khoshbin is a well-known car collector that has rounded up some of the world’s most unique and exclusive vehicles over the years - including a 2016 Hermès Edition Pagani Huayra, a 2021 Hermès Edition McLaren Speedtail, a Ford GT Heritage Edition, and plenty more. With such high standards, it’s no surprise Khoshbin wasn’t satisfied when offered a regular Chiron or even a Chiron Super Sport 300+, which is why he requested a one-off Chiron made in collaboration with French luxury brand Hermès.

Hermès specializes in luxury leather goods that probably cost more than your car, so when tasked to turn the Chiron into a redesigned exclusive piece, they did just that, and the process in itself ended up costing more than $1,000,000. Here’s why the Hermès Edition Bugatti Chiron is so expensive.

The Hermès Edition Bugatti Chiron Took 3 Years To Build

Designing the Hermès Chiron was no easy feat, and it took several instances of trial and error and two full years of negotiations for Bugatti and Hermès to fully wrap their heads around Khoshbin’s request - especially in the color department. The Hermès Edition Chiron is fully-painted in Hermès’ popular Craie color, which can be found on plenty of the luxury brand’s pieces.

However, before settling on the color, the two companies also experimented with blue, silver, and brown alternatives. Hermès had to give Bugatti the exact color spec, for them to specially fabricate the paint for the one-off Chiron.

Most of you are probably already aware of the Chiron’s incredible performance specs, and even though its interior is also extremely high-end straight from the factory, the Hermès touches requested by Khoshbin takes the vehicle to an unrivaled level of class and luxury. Aside from the ultra-exclusive paint job - which also covers the Chiron’s wheels and bumper in what makes for a stunning overall look, the Hermès Chiron features plenty of other design cues both inside and out.

To elevate the exterior, the Hermès Edition Chiron features a pattern featuring the luxury brand’s trademark horse that tastefully decorates the underside of the rear wing, and it fully reveals whenever the vehicle tilts the wing for additional braking power. Up front, the special Chiron also features a unique horseshoe grille design, with a pattern composed of mini ‘H’ letters that nod to the Hermès emblem. Furthermore, the other grilles on the car - such as those on the front bumper and side vents, are also painted with Hermès Craie instead of the regular Chiron’s black finish.

Inside is where you’ll find most of Hermès’ touches, starting with more implementations of their horse pattern on the door panels and knee pads. The pattern features Hermès custom cashmere fabric weaving, and it’s the only occasion in which the brand has ever used its esteemed material in a car. The center console and door sills display ‘Hermès 1/1’ engraving, and there’s even a special driving glove pocket built into the console to store a pair of Hermès gloves that also come with the car. Perhaps most special of all are the seats, built specially by Hermès in order to give the car a more subtle and classy interior; they aren’t as sporty as Bugatti’s regular Chiron sports bucket seats. Lastly, it goes without saying that the entire interior also features Hermès Craie, complemented with brushed aluminum accents and satin carbon fiber.

Aside from the most extravagant Chiron imaginable, Hermès also throws in some complementary pieces for the occasion. We already mentioned the custom leather driving gloves and their respective integrated pocket, but Hermès also sent Khoshbin a custom Craie leather purse, as well as a duffel-bag of featuring the same horse-pattern design found on the car, which is tailor-made to fit perfectly inside the Chiron’s front trunk.

Bugatti threw in their own gem as well, and they sent Manny an exact miniature replica of the Hermès Edition chiron.

It’s rare for such high-end collaborations to take place, especially when it involves mixing an automaker with a luxury-goods company, but boy did it pay off. In total, Khosbhin owns 3 Hermès Edition hypercars, as his Hermès Pagani Huayra and Hermès Chiron were later joined by a Hermès McLaren Speedtail. And who knows, another collaboration might join his lineup in the future.
