Bugatti took the automotive world by storm with the Veyron in 2005. With a quad-turbocharged W16 sending four-figure horsepower to all four wheels, all in a luxurious and opulent package that cost above seven figures, the Veyron came to set the standard for supercars the world over.

In the decade and a half since then, even the term supercar has been left in the past, as manufacturers build hypercars and prove that the more expensive and more exclusive a specific limited-edition model might be, the more people will line up to buy every last one. But Bugatti remains at the forefront, as evidenced by a recent set of pictures from the French automaker showing the company's six most absurd cars, which combined are worth $35.6 million.

In light of the current global pandemic, which has led to thousands of deaths and concerns of a worldwide economic meltdown, this recent presser from Bugatti might seem out of touch with reality. But that's the company's whole vision and brand. A photoshoot set up outside of Château St. Jean in Molsheim, France, shows six of the planet's most lust-worthy vehicles, all based on the Bugatti Chiron: a Pur Sport, a Centodieci, a Super Sport 300+, a La Voiture Noire, a Divo and a Sport.

The Pur Sport is dubbed as the "light and agile" track-oriented version of the Chiron and comes in at $3 million. The Centodieci is limited to only ten examples and hearkens back to the EB110 of the 1990s—it costs $8.6 million and puts out 1,600 horsepower. The Super Sport 300+ is dedicated to breaking the 300-mph barrier and all 30 examples cost at least $3.7 million. The La Voiture Noire is the most expensive new car in the world, at $11.8 million, and will be limited to one example. The Divo will be built 40 times at a cost of $5.3 million each, and focuses on cornering and downforce. And finally, the moderately tame Chiron Sport only costs a paltry $2.8 million.
