The Italians know of drama and exclusivity better than anyone out there. And that explains why Alfa Romeo has managed to stir up attention by making a limited edition from a fairly standard 2022 Giulia. The secret sauce includes picking out certain parts and features that are only available on the high-performance Quadrifoglio model. It might sound silly, but when Alfa Romeo does it, things are different.

There are no changes to the powertrain front, but Alfa did make efforts to help this otherwise standard Veloce trim of the Giulia feel special with heightened driving dynamics, exclusive shades, and carbon fiber trimmings. There will be very limited models of the Giulia Speciale for sale, and it is reserved for Canada only. In the US, the Alfa Romeo Giulia starts with an MSRP of $43,350 and if you even want a bit of Quadrifoglio, it will cost you more than double that price!

So, this limited-run formula makes sense if you look at the price difference and the perks that "Quadrifolgio" puts on the table. We aren't left out as Alfa recently gave us a similar "limited-edition" treatment with the Giulia and Stelvio Esterma Series. These pack a blacked-out visual makeover, loads of carbon fiber, and suspension technology from the Giulia Quadrifoglio. The Esterma Series will go on sale in the US by 2022-end and the Giulia Esterma will be priced from $55,090.

This limited-edition 2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia gets a bunch of Quadrifoglio elements to be "Special".

The Giulia Speciale gets the Montreal Green Tri-Coat exterior paint job which was early available only with the Quadrifoglio models. From afar, you are sure to confuse the Speciale with its beastly big brother. Other special exterior features include black badgings, and the mirror caps and V scudetto grille gets the carbon fiber treatment.

It also flaunts a fresh set of 19-inch blacked-out aluminum wheels in the iconic five-hole design. Yellow Brembo brake calipers make sure to bring out the pop beneath. Also taken from the Giulia Quadrifoglio are carbon-fiber sills that add a sportier visual appeal to this Giulia.

The carbon-fiber treatment seeps into the cabin as well. The 2023 Giulia Speciale gets similar lightweight trimmings on the dashboard, doors, and center console; as seen in the Quadrifoglio. The interior flaunts an all-black layout with everything from the seats, dashboard, steering wheel, center armrest, and shift knob being covered in black standard leather.

Adding contrast to this layout is red stitching that brings forth a sinister look as well. Every other aspect of Giulia's sporty and driver-focused interior has been retained and passengers are also treated to a premium audio experience with standard Harman Kardon speakers.

2022 Giulia Speciale Gets Dialed Up Driving Dynamics

Thankfully every special bit on this Giulia is not aesthetic. It gets the Alfa Adaptive Suspension as standard which again is a unique feature found on the Quadrifoglio. Numerous sensors adjust the shocks to the changing terrain conditions instantly. This helps in providing a planted and comfortable driving experience at all times.

This system is hard-wired to the three driving modes on offer - Dynamic, Natural, and Advanced Efficiency. Each of these settings puts forth a distinctive driving experience. Body roll was already well-preserved on the standard Giulia. But with these new under-the-skin additions, things will surely get a lot more interesting.

The 2022 Giulia Speciale comes packed with a turbocharged 2.0-Liter inline-four motor that churns out 280 hp and 306 lb-ft of torque. There are no tweaks here. Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Alfa also proved a limited-slip differential at the rear wheels which when coupled with the adaptive suspension system will do wonders on the racetrack. The Speciale will do 0-62 mph in 5.1 seconds and has a top speed of 149 mph. These are feisty figures for a car that looks gorgeous from all angles.

The Giulia Speciale Is Limited To 15 Units And Is Canada-Only

All of these grin-worthy additions do come at a price. The 2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia Speciale is limited to just 15 units and only Canada will get it. The Giulia starts with an MSRP of 56,196 CAD (~$43,362) for the base Sprint trim. The Veloce trim starts from 63,295 CAD (~$48840). The Speciale is based on the Veloce trim and is priced from 71,995 CAD (~$55,553) excluding the destination fee of $2,095.

While it is a notable bump over the stock Veloce trim, the Speciale is very much worth it because of its Quadrifoglio connection. The only other way you can get your hands on the "Quadrifoglio" bits is with the 94,745 CAD (~$73,107) Giulia Quadrifoglio. That's pricey! So, you better dial up the nearest Alfa Romeo dealership because 15 units will go off in a jiffy.
