Not many cars can stand up to the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon when it comes to brute force and imposing presence. But as much as the limited run of factory Demons established Dodge as the king of the Detroit muscle car wars, a few stand out as even more special than the rest. Case in point is a custom Demon currently listed by duPont REGISTRY that's received a new body constructed entirely out of carbon fiber.

Drag Strip Demon

The Demon trim emerged in 2018 as a small run of Dodge Challengers that featured an upgraded engine pumping out up to 840 horsepower alongside extensive weight shavings to make it the world's premier drag-strip monster straight from the factory. Of course, the National Hot Rod Association promptly banned the Demon from competition because it's way too fast with not nearly enough safety equipment to pass any sort of standard examination. But every Demon quickly sold out, despite a starting price of $85,090.

One-upmanship

The Demon was limited to only 3,300 units and each one is now a collectible, no matter how hard it may have been pushed at the drag strip. The stats for the factory car are impressive, especially when equipped with the Demon Crate Package and powered by 100 octane fuel, which bumps power up to a maximum of 840 horses from 808.

With four-inch drag tires up front, specialized dampers to transfer more weight to the rear and increase traction, plus the automatic gearbox's transmission brake to improve launches, the Demon can pop a wheelie off the line and blast through a quarter-mile in only 9.65 seconds at a trap speed of 140 miles per hour.

The car currently listed by duPont REGISTRY is being sold by BJ Motors of Harris County, Texas, at an asking price of $169,995. That price sounds less absurd given the completely custom carbon fiber body courtesy of Speedkore that trims an additional 200 pounds of fat off the already pudgy Demon. Only four similar cars were built, though this one also benefits from having only six miles on the odometer, which is presumably about 20 or so quarter-mile sprints.
