Every car enthusiast is a sucker for a car that can tear up the track: a car that wastes no time getting from 0 to 60 miles per hour. Picture what the world’s fastest cars are. If you are thinking about the Bugatti Veyron or the Veyron Super Sport, it may surprise you to know that quite a few other cars have Bugatti beat. But by how much? And what IS the fastest car in the world, anyway?

Many gearheads often pit two supercar heavy hitters against each other in the game of fastest cars in the world. We are talking about the rivalry of Bugatti vs. Koenigsegg, of course. But as a shocking plot twist, you won’t even find Koenigsegg on this list.

The car manufacturers that can boast about being on this list of world's fastest cars include the likes of Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Porsche. And, spoiler alert, you will even find Tesla on this list, too.

The following ten cars just so happen to be faster than the Bugatti Veyron and the Veyron Super Sport. And with 0-60 mph times of 2.5 seconds and 2.4 seconds respectively, the fact remains that the cars on this list are blisteringly quick.

The Nismo version of the Nissan GT-R had the original intention to be a track car with an increase in output to 592 horsepower. While the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has almost a thousand more horsepower, somehow those extra horses couldn't help the Bugatti achieve a quicker 0-60 mph time than the GT-R Nismo.

For a while, this zippy Nissan was the fastest production car to go around Nürburgring with a time of 7:08.679 minutes. After that, Nissan revealed that they had engineered the Nismo specifically for the Nürburgring.
