Cars are no longer just a heavy piece of metal that can take you places. It has to get you connected in ways that are more sophisticated than the garden-variety Bluetooth. There are systems and features we wouldn't even think of or dream of having 20 years ago, and these 10 cars have them now.

10 BMW 7-Series

BMW has always stayed ahead of the curve in terms of technology in its vehicles, and the Series 7 sedan leads the way. From the innovative gesture-controls to the Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Plus, the BMW 7-Series is a car that has tech features that an owner needs to take the time to read about in the manual.

Just the BMW Personal CoPilot driver-assistance systems is a preview to self-driving vehicles, but BMW is still some ways into achieving full automation. For now, let's enjoy remote-controlled parking, Active Cruise Control, Stop&Go, Steering, and Lane Control Assistant, and Traffic Jam Assistant.

9 Cadillac CT6

The CT6 is a sedan manufactured by Cadillac since 2016 and as it is a young car in terms of brand and model, it's sure to have high-tech features in store for the driver and passengers. First, the heated, ventilated and massaging chairs for the front and rear seats, comfortable cushions are no longer enough for Cadillac. The best feature of the CT6 is Super Cruise, it's hands-free driver assistance using LiDar mapping, a camera network, and radar sensors that can be activated with compatible highways. The rear seats also have two 10-inch screens and connectivity to wifi and available USB ports.

8 Chevrolet Bolt

Chevrolet's Bolt EV is a compact car and it's fully electric. It also has tech features that would make other compact vehicles blush in shame. It has an 8-inch-touch screen panel, an automatic heated steering wheel, keyless start button, heated front seats, and a premium Bose 7-speaker audio system. Driving assistance systems include Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and the Teen Driver configuration. This feature assists us in teaching our growing kid how to drive more efficiently and easily. We can customize the vehicle's features and safety systems while we teach our teenage kids the basics if driving.

7 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid

Chrysler is proud to declare that their Pacifica van is the first hybrid minivan in the country. It's not just the first hybrid of its kind, but it's also packed with high-tech features like no other van in the land. Two touch screen monitors in the rear seats that can easily be paired with your kids' devices. They're called Uconnect Theater and are both 10-inches big and has a Blu-ray player as well. There are also built-in games on the touch screens such as Backseat Bingo and Are We There Yet. The Pacifica Hybrid also offers a 20-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Surround Sound system.

6 Honda Accord

At a starting price of $23,720, the Honda Accord is one of the cheapest sedans that comes with a bunch of high-tech stuff included. The 2019 Accord has Honda Sensing that features adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist system, road departure mitigation system, traffic sign recognition, and collision mitigation braking system.

The car also has a heads-up display, it informs the driver of speed, directions and incoming calls on the glass right in the driver's line of sight. The infotainment system is an 8-inch-touch screen that's Apple Carplay and Android Auto ready and has wifi hotspot capabilities, too. The Honda Accord also has heated and ventilated front seats.

5 Kia Optima

Kia would not be endorsed by NBA superstars LeBron James or Blake Griffin if the car wasn’t packed with technology features. You know these guys have to stay connected while on the road. LBJ endorsed the K900 and Blake Griffin's favorite is the Kia Optima. The Kia Optima connects seamlessly with the owner's smartphone, allowing them to access remote commands. This feature lets you warm up the car, or cool it down, even before you get inside. If we can't remember if we locked the car or not, we can lock it using the connected smartphone. The Optima also has Forward Collision-Avoidance Assistance, Vehicle Stability Management, and a Tire-Pressure Monitoring System.

4 Lincoln Continental

The Lincoln Co-Pilot 360 is the Lincoln Continental's 5-feature suite of driver assistance technology. It monitors the driver's blind spots, helps the driver stay on course, looks behind for you, provides assistance in looking ahead, and gives the driver auto-high-beam headlamps for assistance in the dark of night, fog, or rain. As we approach our Continental, it welcomes us with a headlamp, taillight, and door handle light greeting. There's also an amazing Lincoln logo welcome mat that's projected onto the ground below the front doors as another welcome gesture. The Continental's upholstery is provided by Scotland's Bridge of Weir Deepsoft leather.

3 Ram 1500

The Ram pickup trucks never lost their brute-style look throughout the years, but now they are more refined, and more distinguished looking, especially on the inside. The Ram 1500 interior is a whole other world for the driver and passenger. Once you step in, you forget you're inside a truck. The cabin looks nothing like what one would imagine the inside of a pick-up truck to look like, it's all luxury and technology. Start with the 12-inch-touch screen with all the usual connectivity capabilities and navigational features. Then the Harman Kardon powered sound system with 19 speakers makes for a crisp and almost in-person audio experience. Other security features include Smart Cruising and the 360-degree Surround View camera.

2 Tesla Model X

One could say that Tesla is arguably the best company that manufactures electric cars, their sales increase year after year as car owners slowly find the benefits of electric cars. While the company offers only three different car models, the technology inside these cars are as electric as the power that makes them run. Apart from being the fastest SUV in the world (0-60 in 2.7 seconds), the Tesla Model X is quick about it's technology as well. Tesla wows us right away with their 17-inch-touch screen monitor on the dashboard. And if the falcon-wing doors are not high-tech enough for us, then you know nothing about the DeLorean.

1 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Toyota's Safety Sense is a state of the art driver assistance system that includes Automatic High Beams, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. The Toyota Camry also has a Smart Key System, Entune 3.0 Premium Audio with App Suite, JBL speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers, and Dynamic Voice Recognition. This car also has an Advanced Airbag System featuring 10 airbags, LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren), and heated front seats. Toyota is great at manufacturing cars that feature a lot of safety and convenient tech designed to make it easier for both the driver and passengers.
