There is no shortage of action movie stars today. We have everyone from living legends like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis to modern stars like Daniel Craig and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. But among all of them, one star who stands out is Jason Statham. He rose to fame in the Transporter film series, before going on to star in a series of action movies like Crank, Death Race, The Expendables and the Fast and Furious franchise.

In most of his roles, he doesn’t just beat up bad guys and save the day; he also uses a sweet ride to do it. He drove a BMW 735i E38 in the first Transporter movie, a Mini Cooper S in The Italian Job, a Pontiac GTO in The Mechanic, and lots more amazing cars in his other movie roles. We can go as far as saying that he’s become the unofficial James Bond; all he needs to do to seal the role is to order a vodka martini, shaken, not stirred.

It’s not only Statham’s movies where he drives dream cars. His love for beauty, power, and sophistication has carried over to his personal life. He has a garage full of cars most of us can only dream of: foreign machines like Audis and Mercedes; exotic supercars like Ferraris and Lamborghinis; even cars like Jaguars and Aston Martins. Whatever he buys, it’s sure to be something special. So, that’s why we’ve made this list of cars that Jason Statham drives in real life, and the ones he drove in his movies.

Via RSsportscars.com

Jason Statham’s garage would be dull if it only had cars made in Germany. So, he’s added a little spice with the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Ferrari built this car to replace the 599 GTB—and to be both a supercar and a hybrid—and they did an excellent job.

According to Evo, the F12 Berlinetta produces a whopping 730 horsepower at 8250 rpm, all from its V12 engine. This results in a top speed of 211 mph and an acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in only 3.1 seconds. This makes the F12 Berlinetta faster than supercars like the Enzo or the 599 GTO.

19 Real Life - Audi RS 6

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Jason Statham owns a couple of Audis. He’s clearly a fan, and with good reason. One of his cars is the Audi RS 6. Despite its relatively low price—somewhere in the region of $90,000 as compared to Statham’s six-figure cars—it’s among the best cars in its class.

The RS 6 comes in two versions. The first is the Performance model, which is built to have tons of power; this is the one Statham owns. The second is the Avant, which is an estate with looks, practicality and more than enough power.

The car has been produced in four generations, from 1996 until today. And it has only gotten more powerful, with speeds that let it keep up with the latest sports cars and an interior on par with the best luxury cars.

17 Real Life - Aston Martin DBS Volante

Via Evo

The Aston Martin is a car usually associated with James Bond. But heck, Jason Statham is as good as any Bond we know. He might even make a nice Bond one day.

The DBS Volante isn’t your everyday Aston Martin, though. It was originally manufactured between 2009 and 2012 as the convertible version of the DBS. It came with a motorized retractable fabric roof, a Bang and Olufsen speaker system and a 6.0-liter V12 engine which gave this beautiful machine 510 bhp. The Aston Martin DBS Volante was made for those who want natural air conditioning, and don’t mind showing off.

In his movies, Jason Statham’s characters like to drive fast in their cars, whether it’s a Mini Cooper S or a tricked out Ford Mustang. In case you were wondering if that was simply his movie persona, we have some good news: he truly loves fast cars.

The Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 is one of Statham’s fastest cars. It’s small, loud and pretty quick: the two-door sports car goes from 0 to 60 in a blistering 3.4 seconds, thanks to its massive 6.5-liter V12 engine. During its 10-year production run, Lamborghini built 4,000 Murcielagos before replacing them with the Aventador.

15 Real Life - Porsche 911 GT2

Via Car and Driver

The Porsche 911 GT2 became part of Jason Statham’s garage in 2009. He must have enjoyed the feel of driving the car because he was seen in it lots of times around Los Angeles. We can’t blame him, to be honest. The 911 GT2 is one of the finest cars the German manufacturer has made.

According to Autocar, the car goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, 0 to 100 in 7.4 seconds and it reaches a top speed of 204 mph. Not bad for a car powered by a 3.6-liter turbocharged engine; the 444 horsepower does not go to waste.

14 Real Life - Jaguar E-Type

Via RM Sotheby’s

The Jaguar E-Type is a car built for people who have class and who want a timeless car that will turn heads without the need to go over the speed limit. It was made for people like Jason Statham, who can be classy when he chooses to.

And he did when he showed up in this dazzling classic for the premiere of his film, The Mechanic. His goal was to promote the brand, and he undoubtedly succeeded. Even though the classic car wasn’t really his—it actually belongs to Bill Streitenberger—it did not look out of place with Statham.

13 Real Life - Audi R8

When Jason Statham starred in The Transporter, he allegedly loved driving the foreign cars so much that he became a lifelong fan. The Audi R8 is the sportiest Audi in his collection. Powered by a V8 which produces 430 horsepower, the sports car can reach a top speed of 168 mph, not to mention going from 0 to 60 mph in 4 seconds.

Statham owns two Audi R8s: a black one and a white one. He bought the black one, but the white one was a gift to him by Audi for his stellar performance in The Transporter. That’s the one he usually drives.

12 Real Life - Mercedes-Benz S63

Via Bentley Gold Coast

Even though Statham has a soft spot for Audi, that hasn’t stopped him buying a car from one of their major rivals. The Mercedes-Benz S63 is an excellent piece of machinery. The S Class is already one of the finest luxury cars in the world, winning tons of acclaim and outperforming rivals which cost over twice as much.

The S63 AMG comes with the same level of luxury, but with a performance that takes it from the realm of luxury cars to that of sports cars, despite its considerable weight. The car makes full use of its V8 engine to deliver the full package.

11 Real Life - Jaguar XJR

Via Car Magazine

Jason Statham has never driven a Jaguar in his movies. But that didn’t stop him from trying out a Jaguar and loving it so much that he got one. The XJR is a seriously powerful car from Jaguar.

According to Autocar, it comes with a supercharged all-aluminum 5.0-liter V8 engine which produces 503 lb-ft of torque and 543 bhp. All this lets the XJR take a mere 4.4 seconds to reach 60 mph from 0. Not bad for a luxury saloon car. The closest rival it has is the Audi S8, so we can tell how Statham came to like this.

10 Film - Ford Mustang GT (Death Race)

Via 1ZOOM.Me

In Death Race, a remake of 1975’s Death Race 2000, Statham plays Jensen Ames, a framed racer forced to take part in the titular death race. He uses a Ford Mustang which has been modified with heavy armor and a ton of weapons. The director, Paul WS Anderson, was inspired by The Road Warrior, and these cars epitomize that look, none more so than the Mustang.

Under the hood, the Mustang has a beastly Supercharged 4.6-liter V8 engine which produces 300 hp and 320ft/lbs of torque. It’s a fast muscle car, and with the modifications, it looks like a real monster.

9 Film - 2003 Mini Cooper S (The Italian Job)

Via CarDomain

The Italian Job is about a group of thieves who were double-crossed by a former associate, then plan to steal gold back from him. Jason Statham plays Handsome Rob, the team’s wheelman and their official ladies’ man. The other cast members are also stars, from Mark Wahlberg to Charlize Theron.

In the movie, Statham drives a modified 2003 Mini Cooper S. These cars performed pretty well, despite their small stature. The Cooper S comes with a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder supercharged engine which produces 163 horsepower. Even though the car reaches a top speed of 150 mph, it handles pretty well, according to MotorTrend.

8 Film - 2004 Pontiac GTO (The Mechanic)

Via Serious Wheels

In The Mechanic, Statham plays the role of Arthur Bishop. The movie doesn’t have a lot of driving. However, it still features one of Statham’s most iconic car-based action scenes, which pits a Pontiac GTO against an entire convoy of SUVs.

Even though it doesn’t look like much, the blue 2004 Pontiac GTO is no slouch. The RWD car is powered by a V8 engine which lets the car leap from 0 to 60 in a mere 5.3 seconds. And at launch, it was sold at a reasonable $33,000.

7 Film - Aston Martin DB9 (Furious 7)

Via Drive South West

Jason Statham is the latest big star in the Fast and Furious franchise. Even though he’s become a bit of an anti-hero, he started out as a plan-old bad guy. He plays Deckard Shaw, an ex-special forces veteran, and the main villain in Furious 7. In the movie, he drives a sweet Aston Martin DB9.

The ride, which was in production from 2004 until 2016, is powered by a 5.9-liter V12 engine with a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission. The car is capable of reaching a top speed of 190 mph and doing 0 to 60 in just 4.6 seconds.

6 Film - BMW 735i E38 (Transporter)

Via The E38 Registry

The Transporter is the movie which set Statham up as an international action star, and it’s undoubtedly his most iconic role. In the 2002 film, he plays Frank Martin, a driver for hire, or transporter, who will make any delivery anywhere, without asking questions.

This is the car that started Statham’s love affair with foreign vehicles. The 1999 BMW 735i E38 has a 3.5-liter engine and 8 cylinders, giving it an output of 235 bhp and 345 Nm of torque. According to Carfolio, it can reach a maximum speed of 151 mph; not bad for a machine built for luxury as opposed to speed.

5 Film - Mercedes-Benz W140 (Transporter)

The BMW 735i E38 wasn’t the only car Statham used in Transporter. He also got his hands on the Mercedes-Benz W140. The car belonged to a range of flagship vehicles that Mercedes-Benz made between 1991 and 1998.

According to Turbozens, the W140 was initially unveiled in 1990. It came in both coupe and sedan versions. The sedans used Turbo-Diesel engines whose capacities ranged from 3 liters to 6 liters. Comfort and safety were the primary aims of the W140, and to that end, it included Effective Braking systems, Electronic Stability Program and Brake Assist. This made the W140 one of the most elegant cars in the '90s.

4 Film - Audi A8 6.0 W12 (Transporter 2)

Via HiClassCar

In Transporter 2, Statham reprises his role as Frank Castle. In the movie, a young boy he chauffeurs gets taken, and he sets out to rescue him. The budget for Transporter 2 was definitely higher than the first one, so Statham got a better car for his character: the Audi A8 6.0 W12.

Audi made this A8 between 2004 and 2011, and they have since discontinued the incredibly powerful 6.0 W12 models. According to Turbozens, the car used a 5998cc engine which allowed it to reach 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. It was also an incredible luxurious machine, worthy of Frank Castle.

3 Film - Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster (Transporter 2)

Via Driving Emotions

In Transporter 2, Statham’s character also drove a Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster in a chase scene towards the end. He was evading police while pursuing a plane, so he naturally needed something fast. The Murcielago delivers in spades: it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 3.8 seconds, thanks to its powerful 4-cylinder V12 engine. It also reaches a top speed of 202 mph with the top on and 99 mph with the top off.

In addition, the roof could be detached and folded to fit in a leather bag which Lamborghini provided. The Murcielago Roadster was produced between 2004 and 2006.

2 Film - Fast Attack (Furious 7)

Via Movie Cars Central (YouTube)

In Furious 7, Statham’s character did everything he could to get in the way of the good guys. And that meant using a Chevrolet Fast Attack to ram Vin Diesel’s character off the road and chase him down a mountain. According to Volocars, six of these cars were made exclusively for the movie, and only three survived. So, this is one of the rarest vehicles you can find today.

The Fast Attack runs on a 5.3-liter LS engine. It has a custom off-road chassis made of Lucra Fiberglass, and the interior includes aluminum bucket seats along with a Sweeny FX Roll Cage.

1 Film - Audi A8 6.0 W12 Facelift (Transporter 3)

Via Top Speed

Transporter 3 is Statham’s final role as Frank Castle, and it’s as satisfying as you’d want. Statham’s character drives a face-lifted Audi A8 6.0 W12. This is a pretty similar car to the A8 used in Transporter 2, but with some minor differences.

The sedan’s 4 cylinder, 6-liter W12 engine produces 446 horsepower along with 580Nm of torque, according to Turbozens. It also has incredibly poor fuel economy, delivering 7 mph on the highway and a pitiful 4 mph within the city. However, for a car in its price range, fuel economy is probably the furthest thing from the buyer’s mind.
