A drag race between two high-performance muscle cars is always going to be exciting. Especially if those muscle cars are a Ford Mustang GT and a Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye. Perhaps two of the best when it comes to modern muscle cars. But what if one or both of those muscle cars have had some serious modifications done to them? Well, the intensity just surely ramps up another level. This video, uploaded onto YouTube by Drag Racing and Car Stuff shows a Mustang GT with a Roush Supercharger line up against a Hellcat Redeye in some drag races and gets trounced in all of them.

No Mods Are Mentioned For The Hellcat

The video doesn’t make any mention of any mods done to the Hellcat, but we have to assume some have been carried out given the Mustang itself is not stock. The video features four races between the two.

In the first one, the Mustang appears to have the edge off the line but the Hellcat suddenly finds its feet and then launches off into the distance, completing the run in just 10.92 seconds compared to 12.08 for the Mustang.

Whatever The Hellcat Does To Warm Its Tires, It Does Well

The next drag race includes a clip of the two cars warming up their tires, with the Hellcat doing so by a bit more than the Mustang. If you were hoping for a different race result then you are going to be disappointed. Once again, the Hellcat absolutely launches off the line to leave the Mustang trailing in its wake, although the race was a bit closer. Not done with being beaten twice, the Mustang then comes back for more.

The Mustang Edges Closer But Can't Quite Take The Hellcat

In the third race, the Mustang does manage to at least bridge the gap to the Hellcat that bit more. The Hellcat completed the 1/4 mile in 10.37 seconds whilst the Mustang was able to do it in 10.84 seconds. So, is the final race going to bring an upturn in fortunes for the Mustang? The short answer is no. The fourth race produces exactly the same result as the previous three, with the Hellcat taking the spoils. But it's much closer. The Mustang did the run in 10.84 seconds once again whilst the Hellcat did the run in 10.66 seconds. In the end though, the Hellcat Redeye reigned supreme over the Mustang. Close but no cigar.
