A Born Gearhead Dreamer Who Started From The Bottom To Earn His Garage

Born in Compton, California, Lamar began rapping while he was still in elementary school and trying to mimic his idols Tupac and Dr. Dre. Our presenter tells us his parents decided to move from the south side of Chicago to Compton three years before he was born, as his father had been heavily involved in gangs.

Lamar’s first full project was completed at the early age of 16 and during his career, he has won 13 Grammy Awards and even a Pulitzer prize, becoming the first hip hop artist to do so.

Our presenter continues that Lamar has a net worth of $75,000,000, and he owns many beautiful homes and extremely luxurious cars.

There's a specific genre of car that Kendrick enjoys, and this is very clearly the low rider segment. Starting with his 1992 Cadillac Seville, our presenter tells us that this was Lamar's very first car. Its power comes from a large 4.9-liter V8, which produces 203 hp. With a 0-60 of 8.6 seconds, it's not a fast car, but the Seville is a car about comfort.

The next car is a 1964 Chevy Impala. This is the definitive and most legendary car in the low rider community. This car is special because the X-type frame is an ultra-heavy duty frame that is capable of withstanding the frame stresses caused by hydraulic hopping or three-wheeling.

The Cadillac does make another appearance on the list, with the 1990 Brougham very similar to a rendering we covered. This is square-bodied elegance on wheels and keeping true to his style, Lamar makes this more about comfort than speed. Since it only produces 140 hp, going slow shouldn't be an issue. This is why most low riders have nicknames like a lead sled and all slow, no go.
