KTM now makes cool performance motorcycles that can rip the tarmac apart. But if you rewind on this Austrian motorcycle maker, we know that their forte lies in the dirt. KTM has been a long-time dirt-bike maker, with decades of R&D being poured into building the most capable off-roading arsenal. These orange monsters are a staple across the various motocross event around the world.

And so, their Enduro line-up already packed the best engineering bits. Improving on something that is already on top of the game is tough. But KTM has done just that with its 2023 off-road and enduro line-up. With some clever standardization of mechanical features and a cool new throwback livery package, KTM brings freshness to its off-roading arsenal.

The line-up now gets five new two-stroke bikes and eight new four-stroke ones. These offerings will improve KTM's stronghold in the best enduro motorcycles list for 2022 and also muscle it up against the likes of off-road machines from Yamaha, Honda, Beta, and even the all-electric Zero FX.

With subtle mechanical upgrades and a new throwback color scheme, KTM has managed to refresh the most experienced bunch of enduro motorcycles out there, for 2023.

There are a total of 17 offerings in KTM's enduro arsenal including 10 four-stroke models and seven two-stroke models. These can be broadly divided into three sections in the form of XC-W, XCF-W, and EXC-F. And all the updates are spread distinctively across these three ranges of off-roaders, with engine tweaks only for the two-stroke-equipped XC-W line-up.

The common updates across the line-up include the cool new decal set and orange painted frame. The new line-up also includes the "Six Days" models which is a nod to the 2022 edition of the oldest off-road race on the FIM calendar - International Six Days Enduro. This year will be the 96th edition of this race slated to take place between 29 August to 3 September 2022.

The new white-purple-orange color scheme used in the 2023 Enduro range is an ode to the early KTM enduro machines from the 90s. This gives KTM's trail machines a unique eye-candy advantage over all its competitors on the dirt. The EXC-F-based Six Days Edition models further add to the visual drama by adding more red and blue to a unique graphics set that will remind you of the French racing event.

It also gets a slew of other bits like a bunch of special protective pieces, a front axle puller, orange-anodized CNC-milled triple clamps, and a blue SIX.DAYS seat. More orange is splashed onto these enduro machines with a race-inspired orange-coated frame. The visual changes are strict to just the stickers and color options.

The two-stroke motors continue to make use of KTM's patented Transfer Port Injection (TPI) system that provides smooth and strong power delivery from low revs, all the while, reducing fuel consumption and running cleaner as compared to standard two-stroke motors. And the four-stoke line-up continues to impress us with insane performance figures.

The 450cc and 500cc motors offer class-leading power coupled with impressive reliability, and the best pick include the KTM 450 XCF-W and the super-popular KTM 500 EXC-F dual-sport motorcycle. The prior is a new meaty addition that will come without the airbox reed system present in the older 450cc offerings, and also have a more open exhaust and exclusive engine mapping to make it performance-focused.
