CFMoto has unveiled the new 250 CL-X Neo-Retro Roadster, which is the latest quarter-liter naked bike from the Chinese manufacturer. The 250 CL-X Neo-Retro Roadster is based on the 250NK from CFMoto, which is a quarter-liter naked bike and has a lot of modern design components. Most of the underpinnings from 250NK have been reserved while its sharp modern bodywork has been replaced with more neo-retro rounded components.

The CFMoto CL-X 250 Neo-Retro Roadster is the entry-level option to the popular CL-X lineup from the company. Anyone can notice the similarities between this bike and its older siblings in the CL-X lineup, starting with the classic round headlamps marked with a striking X-shaped DRL surrounding it. The fuel tank and the tail section are quite complementary to each other, and the stepped seat is a good choice for a bike this size.

At the heart of the new 250 CL-X Neo-Retro Roadster lies the 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine from the 250NK that produces 28HP of power at a peak torque of 22Nm. It also features on-the-fly riding modes and a slipper clutch for better convenience during city rides. The 250 CL-X Neo-Retro Roadster has some improvements over the 250NK in the ergonomics space, with a more upright riding position than the NK, which has a more aggressive street bike stance.

As for the mechanics, an upside-down fork and mono-shock from KYB are used for suspension, and braking is handled by disc brakes on both ends. Given the progressive nature of CFMoto, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a bigger version in the form of a CL-X 300, which would have the 292cc engine from the 300SR super bike.

The 250 CL-X comes with full LED lighting, which is a must for modern bikes to survive, especially in this highly-competitive segment. It also comes with dual-channel ABS and digital instrumentation, among other features. Since there has not been any news from CFMoto about the pricing of the 250 CL-X Neo-Retro Roadster, even in the international market, it is expected to be debuted in Asian markets like Indonesia or Malaysia. However, the bike may be built on the bigger 300NK platform for markets like India, the Philippines, and Australia.

The 250 CL-X Neo-Retro Roadster will face some tough competition from the likes of Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, the Yezdi Scrambler, the Honda CB350RS, and even the new Royal Enfield Scram 411 in the neo-retro small-displacement bikes segment.
