The C3 Corvette was Chevrolets flagship creation from 1967-1982, and for many in the mid-50s crowd, the shapely curves of the 70s Stingrays rank among their first loves. So with GM continually working on even hotter renditions of the C8 Corvette, coupled with aftermarket mods taking the C3 to all new levels, it’s not hard to believe that the latest, newest model is all that those ‘Vette fans are interested in.

Enthusiast Camm Fisher has given a peek at what a melding of a pair of ‘Vettes would look like, rendering a C7 face on a C3 body.

Bridging Time Between Corvette Generations

While there are plenty of retro Corvette aficionados and new-age ‘Vette fans, how could there possibly be a way to build a bridge between the camps? Fisher’s rendering just might do the trick, since it brings together the C3 and C7 renditions of the classic American icon.

Known as a Chevy man himself, Fisher has owned multiple models, and while some purists may have a difficult time dealing with the concept of a “hybrid” of the models, it should be noted that while the “Stingray” badge was retired after Chevy moved on from the C3, it was brought back by the C7.

A Tall Task For Any Mod Shop

Thanks to social media, the aftermarket industry has the ability to spread the word on countless ideas and introduce more and more builds to the public on almost a daily basis. Certainly, someday an eccentric shop will come up with the idea to bring Fisher's rendering to real life.

Of course, fitting the face of a C7 on a C3 would be a tall task for any mod shop. However, similar stunts have been tried countless times and the amount of work certainly hasn’t stopped the die hard enthusiasts from giving things like this a try.

What A Corvette Like This Could Look Like In Real Life

While it's nothing new to see face swaps and renderings online, actually finding projects have been limited until recently. The digital realm has seen the popularity of graphic artists transforming one model’s look to another’s, so seeing the numbers increase for these projects in the real world isn’t beyond expectations.

Some aspects would have to be addressed to actually pull off the C3 facelift, as the chrome bits coming from the retro model would need some assistance before being able to be melded with the contemporary front end and styling of the C7.

Reaction to Fisher’s rendering was considerably popular. Who knows if anyone will decide to take on the task and actually pull off the Stingray transplant someday. But one thing is for certain, the world will know about it if they do.
