Chevrolet and Ford unveiled their next generation NASCAR competitors today for the 2022 season.

The cars look more like their corresponding factory models than stock cars, but closer inspection reveals some nuanced aerodynamic attributes. Besides the redesigned rear end, each car has its own hood ventilation design. Larger aluminum wheels and the new exhaust note rank high on the list of anticipated changes.

NASCAR President Steve Phelps declared the new generation cars are innovative while in keeping with NASCAR traditions. The cars underwent severe scrutiny at the hands of racing drivers and engineers for their development.
