Chevrolet stopped production of the Corvette this week at the General Motors factory in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Supply chain issues are to blame for this latest halt in production. But this time, it is not related to the global shortage of microchips.

General Motors expects to resume production on Monday, March 28. The Bowling Green factory is the only place where the Chevrolet Corvette is manufactured. No other GM plants in America saw a halt in production this week due to similar issues.

The C8 Corvette's sales success has come despite a series of production setbacks. It began with a UAW labor union strike in 2019, just as C8 production was starting. Then came the Coronavirus pandemic and the supply chain issues caused by it. One can only wonder how many C8 Corvettes could have sold if General Motors was able to build them without any production delays or issues.
