Canada’s Mission Raceway Park was all set to host its premiere quarter-mile drag racing and road racing courses in October 2021 with a fantastic lineup. Amongst the lineup was a drag race between a Chevy Camaro ZL1 and Dodge SRT Challenger Hellcat. As two of the top contenders in the muscle car war, they are some of the best cars that money can buy. The goal of conducting The Drag Race was to determine which car is truly the fastest. YouTube channel Wheels uploaded footage of the drag race, showcasing a ZL1 taking on a black Hellcat, both looking menacing as they prepared for the battle.

Camaro ZL1 Vs Challenger Hellcat

The coveted Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 consisted of a powerful Supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. It produced 650 HP and 650 lb-ft of torque. The car flew from 0 to 60 MPH in under 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 190 MPH. The car had a sticky rubber at the rear to conduct a seamless drag trial.

The black Dodge SRT Challenger Hellcat has a robust 6.2-liter V8 engine that provides an output of 797 HP and 707 lb-ft of torque. It reached 60 MPH in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 203 MPH. Similar to the Chevy, the SRT Challenger also had rubber at the rear to use maximum power.

Two Rounds, Only One Winner

The cars lined up for the First Round at the start line. After the light, the Camaro ZL1 got a great start, leading the quarter mile. Midway, the Dodge slowly caught up with the ZL1 and overtook it to reach the finish line. The Hellcat took 10.63 seconds to finish the quarter, while the Chevy needed 11.26 seconds.

The second round began, and this time, Hellcat took the lead. With a great start against the ZL1, the Dodge swiftly reached the finish line before its competitor. The Hellcat took only 10.86 seconds, whereas the Camaro ZL1 required 11.28 seconds to complete the Quarter Mile.

The definitive winner among the two muscle cars was the Dodge SRT Challenger Hellcat that proved the fact that despite not being the fastest Dodge, it cranked out powerful ponies to reach the finish line. The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 may have been a close second, but it remains one of the best muscle cars in the market.
