The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is one of the best options on the market for a rugged, durable pickup truck. Its versatile platform has continuously evolved over numerous generations. With a new model year comes improvements to the Silverado as well as copious trim choices. When it comes to deciding which trim is best for you, there are some key variables to consider.

The Trail Boss trim provides a configuration that is ideal for off-road purposes with upgrades such as a 2” factory suspension lift. Trail Boss is offered in LT and Custom versions along with two stylized editions. The Trail Boss trim builds upon the well designed Silverado to provide additional all-terrain capabilities. LT Trail Boss can be ordered with either the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 or 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 which have 355 or 420 horsepower, respectively. One of the key features of the Trail Boss trim is the 2” factory suspension lift, which is combined with a Z71 off-road package for ultimate all-terrain performance.

Z71 includes skid plates for underbody protection along with “Hill Descent Control” and a heavy-duty air filter. The truck has an auto-locking rear differential, which enhances off-road performance. Monotube Rancho shocks are standard along with an AutoTrac transfer case. This is complemented by 18” wheels that are wrapped around Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac Mud-Terrain tires. For the LT and Custom Trail Boss trims, Goodyear Territory MT Tires with 20” wheels are also available.
