When it comes to luxury, very few car manufacturers deliver it quite like Lexus. The luxury division of Toyota are of course famed for some of the most comfortable, luxurious and relaxing cars to drive in the world. Then they go and make the LFA supercar but still, even that had some level of luxury within it. Like many manufacturers, Lexus are creating plenty of large and beastly SUVs, and recently the brand revealed its 2023 Lexus NX, offering various versions of one of its move popular current models amid a recent host of great 2023 releases.

The NX was actually fully redesigned from the inside and out as a 2022 SUV, and these features are also carried over from that car into the 2023 model year. Lexus has gone one step further too, with every exterior surface reimagined and the Lexus Driving Signature returning to offer a truly unique Lexus driving experience. The new NX for 2023 is also full of technology as you might expect, and there are plenty of different powertrain versions on offer ranging from plug-in hybrid to naturally aspirated. Lexus has ensured that every need is now catered for with its 2023 NX.

Gas Power Leads The Way With The 2023 NX

When it comes to powertrains, gas power leads the way with the 2023 NX and specifically on the NX 350 and the NX 250. The NX 350 features a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, with an eight-speed transmission and 275 hp on offer for the driver. It might be a big car, but that engine is enough to propel the big SUV from 0-60 mph in just 6.6 seconds, half a second quicker than the last model. The NX250 meanwhile features a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, with an eight-speed transmission. It has 203 hp and a 0-60 time of 8.2 seconds.

While gas power leads the way, the NX 450h+ is a major highlight with its plug-in crossover power. The plug in hybrid version of the NX has an EPA estimated 36-mile range on electric power only, and Lexus say that the system means the EV portion of the car has the output power equivalent to that of a 2.0-liter engine, and the MPG of the car is around the 84 MPG mark. That electric power combines with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and gives the car a 0-60 time of just 6.0 seconds.

Hybrid Power Signals The Future Of The NX

Lexus says that the electric portion of the NX 450h+ can be fully charged in around two and a half hours when it is also equipped with the optional 6.6 kW onboard charger. When it comes to hybrid power though Lexus have even more to offer. Enter the NX 350h, the regular hybrid version of the NX. This packs the Lexus Hybrid Drive system that pairs the D4-S fuel injection 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with two high-torque electric drive motor generators for strong acceleration. All-in, this version produces 239 combined hp and has a 0-60 mph time of 7.2 seconds.

For the 2023 model year Lexus are also offering the F Sport Handling package for the NX350. This adds new exterior features such as the bold F Sport grille, and the 20-inch gloss black aluminum wheels. The package also turns up the driving dynamics of the car thanks to the active variable suspension and the front and rear performance dampers. Dark Graphite Aluminum ornamentation is also exclusively available on the F Sport version of the NX 350, while exclusive F Sport colors for the car include Ultra White, Obsidian and Ultrasonic Blue 2.0.

Nature Inspires The Calming Interior Of The 2023 Lexus NX

Lexus says that the interior of the 2023 NX offers a calming experience. Thematic Ambient Illumination is an optional feature that allows for up to 14 interior themes, which include Rain Forest and Sunset. Various colors such as Black and Rooja Red NuLuxe can are available for the trim, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard features in the NX. The interior also offers a 9.8-inch touchscreen display, with an optional 14-inch version available. Digital Key is another feature that allows owners to start their vehicle with their phones, and OTA updates ensure that the infotainment system is always up-to-date.

Luxury Is At The Forefront Of The 2023 NX

Luxury is key with this new NX, such as the Black Open Pore wood trim available in the Luxury version while an optional panoramic moonroof allows for even more lighting within the car. The abundance of engine options for the NX ensures that there is something there for everyone, while the F Sport package ensures that dynamic handling can come to even the biggest of SUVs. The 2023 Lexus NX certainly packs a punch and offers the classic luxurious Lexus experience.
