This alone makes the car very cool as it is important in the history of the brand, and helps us understand how the brand has evolved today. Coming with agile handling and being a lightweight car (weighing 1,700 lb at its lightest), the Porsche came with some very defining characteristics of a sports car.

Also experiencing some motorsport success, with the car being driven at Le Mans, the 356 was very popular among enthusiasts and consumers. As such, we're definitely not surprised to see Jay Leno in a Porsche 356 as he is renowned for his love for cars and it is definitely a very cool car to feature in the Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee TV show.

Driven in the fifth episode of the second series of the show, the Porsche 911 Carrera RS is a very cool car. Launched in 1973, this model was homologated for motorsport. The 2.7-liter RS came with 210 hp and fuel injection to enhance performance. The suspension was also stiffened and a 'ducktail' spoiler was added to the rear of the car, enhancing downforce. The Sport Lightweight version was around 220 lb lighter than the RS Touring, making the vehicle all the better for fast driving.

Also on offer was a Carerra RS 3.0 in 1974, with power boosted to 230 hp and offered racing capability. While Seth Meyers was in the 1973 model, this car was incredibly cool and we definitely wouldn't say no to driving one. As such, the 911 Carrera RS easily makes it onto this list with its sportiness and abilities being well known.

8 Jaguar Mark 2 - Robert Klein

Driven in the third episode of series four, the episode featured Robert Klein in a Jaguar Mark 2. The Jaguar Mark 2 is a mid-sized luxury sports saloon and it was fairly fast too. Going over 100 mph at top speed in the 2.4-liter model, and reaching a top speed of 125 mph in the 3.8-liter model, the Mark 2 lived up to its slogan of 'Grace...Space...Pace'. Also, the Jaguar XK6 I6 engine was the lucrative selling point of the car, and the technologically advanced engine lived up to the hype.

We definitely think that the Mark 2 is a great car, and history has proven this too with the high sales and its motorsport success. As such, this was definitely the right choice to feature in the TV show, especially with the car's legacy is still being enjoyed today, with the Jaguar XE of 2015 being a descendant of the car.

The only engine on offer was the 4.3-liter V8 which produced between 210 to 240 hp. Indeed, the car looked just as attractive as the C1 in previous years but came with more options for the drivers.

5 Aston Martin DB5 - Julia Louis-Dreyfus

The Aston Martin DB5 was featured in the sixth series in the first episode. The guest star was Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and it set place in Santa Monica. The DB5 is a very famous car, being a British luxury grand tourer, being the final evolution of the DB4. Coming with a 4.0-liter Straight-6 engine, the car produced 282 hp alongside a top speed 0f 145 mph. Also coming with a refined design throughout the car, the vehicle had electric windows and wool pile carpets enhancing its luxury appeal.

The DB5 is certainly one of the more luxurious cars to feature on the show and is definitely one cool car. The vehicle has a lot of history and has been big in pop culture, so it has continued to be quite big among enthusiasts today.

4 Studebaker Avanti - J.B. Smoove

The Studebaker Avanti featured in the eighth series of the Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee show, with J.B. Smoove as the guest too. The Studebaker Avanti was launched in 1962 and it came with a supercharged V8 engine that meant that the car could reach over 178 mph in terms of speed. The car also broke several world records, but sadly the brand folded not long after its release.

Production of the Avanti was slow, with only 1,200 actually built out of the 20,000 that were planned. Despite this, the Avanti is a great car in terms of history and in how powerful it was. The car is definitely a great one to be featured on the show, and even better there were revivals of the car made until 2006.

3 Mazda Cosmo - Margaret Cho

The Mazda Cosmo was also featured in the eighth series of the show, in the second episode. Featuring Margaret Cho in the car, the model was one from the 1967 lineup. The Cosmo was one of the first production cars to feature a 2-rotor Wankel engine. The car managed to beat the NSU R080 into production and it was interesting to see the production of new engine technology. An interesting fact about the car is that one was produced each day, which meant that it was always going to be rare.

The engine was smooth too, but the usual problems with the rotary engine occurred with tip wear being an issue. However, the Mazda Cosmo is a very interesting car especially due to its historical implementation of the rotary engine and the success that Mazda has had from the engine. Alongside this, the car looked good and was very stylish, fitting in with the 1960s design language.

2 Mercedes W113 - Alec Baldwin

The Mercedes W113 featured in the first series of the show was accompanied by Alec Baldwin. Launched in 1963, the W113 is one of the most iconic Mercedes cars ever. It was stylish and very attractive, featuring a slight resemblance to the Pagoda roof which is famous in Chinese architecture. The 280 SL was driven in the show and this version of the car was definitely a grand tourer, coming with an M130 2.8-liter engine which produced 168 hp, the car had a good amount of power for what the driver would want it to do.

The Buick Riviera featured in the fourth series of the show in the second episode. With George Wallace featuring as the guest star, the 1965 Buick Riviera had been facelifted from its original appearance when it debuted in 1963. Coming with the same V8 engine as previously, but sportier looks were added and the headlights were given a redesign too.
