2017 Ferrari GTC4 Lusso

Via: MotorTrend

This car is a monster on the road! It has a V13 engine that is mounted completely behind the front wheels. It injects fuel directly into the combustion chambers. This demon produces 680 horsepower and up to 514 lb-ft of naturally aspirated torque.

When this car comes towards you, it sounds like it is going to take your breath away… literally! When it is driving away from you, it sounds like the car is breaking wind in the most vulgar yet beautiful of ways. The inside of this Ferrari is magnificent. It is pure luxury mixed with a bit of power and meanness.

This is what Jason had to say about the car:

“It's rather surprising, then, that from inside the Lusso, the V-12 is an acoustic nonevent. It's not that you don't hear the engine, but it's hushed enough to give little indication of the violence experienced outside. That isolation continues to the rest of the in-cabin experience: dual-pane side windows and what must be hundreds of pounds of sound deadening keep road and wind noise to a dull roar…. Sure, it's a unicorn's unicorn. But this time it has cup-holders deep enough to contain your favorite acqua minerale while you unleash all 680 horsepower. The Italians really know how to live.”

2018 Volkswagen Atlas

Via: VroomGirls

The first thing you notice about this car is the color. It is gorgeous and looks so good on the road. Next, you notice its name stretched across the large chrome strip on the rear tailgate… It is missing the T.

This car has VW’s 2.0 liter turbo-four engine which gives you 235 horsepower as well as 258 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels only. You can ask for the 3.6 liter VR6 instead if you want a bigger engine. This is a heavyweight car so you feel safe when you drive it which is good. This SUV roars on the open road!

Jason said:

“The Atlas' only major miss is that it has no single standout feature… This is a crowded segment full of established players, and the Atlas is a fine entry, but a wallflower arriving late to the party will have a hard time getting noticed.”

He went on to say that it is a nice car to drive. On the motorway, you do not hear much noise except for the occasional wind noises but other than that, it is a smooth ride.

2016 Mazda CX-9 Prototype

Via: MotorTrend

Jason said:

“it's difficult to speak authoritatively about some important parts of the driving experience: ergonomics, for instance, since the interior was also completely covered. Furthermore, Mazda made it clear that the tuning on this hand-built prototype wasn't complete. Could have fooled us”

Jason had the privileged of driving around LA in a camouflaged prototype. From start to finish all Jason could say was that it drove like a finished, polished production car. The V6 engine was replaced with a turbocharged, 2.5 liter I-4 that prioritized low-end torque over marketing-material high revving, screaming horsepower. Horsepower is just 227 hp on 87-octane fuel or 250 hp on 93.

This car does not have to scream to keep up with traffic. It is a smooth ride, sounds nice but it quiet at the same time. The power steering made the drive even more enjoyable and let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to be seen driving around in a car that looks as epic as this Mazda CX-9.
