The coolest cars, more often than not, belong to the coolest of people. And by the coolest of people, we mean the richest, of course, because it's not as if the mere mortals can afford expensive cars, with even more expensive customizations. Or even if they can, it's all they can afford. Period. Yet even for people who do have loads of money, it takes a love for cars and plenty of tasteful choices to get them their dream rides. The kind of vehicles that make other people go green with envy.

Customizing cars does not come without risk and many have completely ruined their cars with bad modifications. Money does not always buy you taste. Although, to be fair, when it comes to cars, it's more of individual choice than anything else.

On that positive note, here go the eight coolest custom sports cars driven by A-list celebrities, and you would immediately recognize these stars from their cars.

8 David Beckham’s Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé Stuns

The Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, and that’s a mouthful of a name, is not your usual sports car, in that it’s a land barge and one that can seat Beckham and his family in absolute comfort and luxury. And it is customized to boot, blacked out on the outside and all posh, pun intended, on the inside.

Beckham later put it up for sale and the listing price of this cool custom sports car was $399,888. Maintained pristinely, it even has an entertainment unit in the back for kids to get their jollies in, whilst mum and dad take in the breeze.

7 Eric Clapton’s Ferrari SP12 EPC Is Unique

This car has more bass than Clapton’s voice, considering it’s a one-off Clapton creation, based on the 458 Italia. It eschews the V12 in favor of the Boxer engine and cost him $4.7 million to make. Clearly, that’s a loose change for Clapton.

The car was made as a collab between Clapton, of course, as well as Ferrari’s Cento Stile and Pininfarina. Design-wise, it bears retro cues, inspired by the 512 and 365 Berlinetta Boxers. You cannot get more custom than this, considering its one-of-a-kind and carries SP12 EPC as the license plate.

6 Will.I.Am's DeLorean-Chrysler-GM Frankenstein

Some would call this hideous but there’s an inherent coolness to rapper and Black Eyed Peas member Will.I.Am’s boxy DMC, that looks way different than the all-steel ‘80s classic that went down in a drug bust. The problem was that he overdid the talking bit.

The rapper claimed it was his concept and was made from parts from Chrysler stuck onto a DeLorean. In reality, the car was made by West Coast Customs, carries a GM engine, and has random donor parts from a Challenger. Oh, and the man was so excited, he drove it around without registration, getting the car impounded. Still looks cool though…

5 Justin Bieber's Chromed-Out Fisker Karma

Via Pinterest

Fisker Karma is a rather controversial car, although that’s not why he was pulled over for driving one. A long time ago when Bieber turned 18, his manager gifted him one. Bieber, decided to chrome it out, completely. Not only did this throw shade at all traffic on the road, although it more glare than shade, it also made him completely visible to the paps.

And so he was pulled over once because cops spotted a Nissan driving aggressively behind the chromed Karma. Only, the Nissan turned out to be his security detail, and the paps soon arrived on screen.

4 Nicki Minaj's Lamborghini Aventador Is Barbie-fied

Via HistoryGarage

Nicki Minaj’s early days in Hollywood showcased her Barbie avatar, and when you are Barbie, you are pink. So was her hair. But once you go pink, why stop at hair? Why not make your new car Barbie-pink as well? And so Minaj not only bought the Aventador Roadster, she decided to make it pink.

Originally it was blue, and then it went to Exotic Euro Cars, WCC, and Forgiato and turned pink. It even had pink wheels, and cost her another $30,000, over and above the cost of the Roadster.

8 Coolest Custom Sports Cars Driven By A-List Celebrities

The man with the golden, if big, mouth, not only croons into the mike when he wants to, he vroomed in a Hennessey Venom GT Spyder. And while Hennessey already gives us visions of customized power, Steven Tyler’s car was different because of custom audio (but of course), black leather interiors, and a teardrop eye logo. Plus, it was the very first Venom GT Spyder.

But the frontman of Aerosmith is a guy with a large heart so when he was not thrilled by the same thrills from the Venom, so he sold it for charity and raised $800,000.

2 Flo Rida’s Gold Bugatti Is An Overkill

Via Twitter

Rapper Flo Rida, as in Tramar Lacel Dillard, not only paid a gut-wrenching $1.7 million for his Bugatti Veyron, he then went and dashed gold all over it. Why? Because apparently, the Veyron wasn’t visible enough for him, so he got it wrapped in gold chrome.

Still not satisfied, he went to Forgiato, got 24-inch wheels, and had then infused with solid 24-karat gold. And now, his car is visible even from Mars. Okay, okay, that’s an exaggeration – but it is visible from the moon at least.

1 Paris Hilton’s Bentley GT Continental Was A Childhood Dream

Via Pinterest

We all have little boy dreams and little girl visions, depending on whether we were boys or girls when we were little. Paris Hilton’s dream was to have a pink car, so when she was all grown up, she got one. Only, since she is Paris Hilton, it wasn’t just any car.

Hers was a very, very pink custom Bentley GT Continental, and we only hope, for her own sake, that she did not extend the pink to the inside. That said; any car that fulfills has a childhood dream has got to be cool...
