Getting a new look every once in a while helps in creating a fresh new feeling. It is right for cars, too. Cars tend to go through changes every few years, some are enticing and others not. Automakers try modifications in terms of styling, power, handling, size, and many other features. Most of the time, these facelifts feel good and even impressive. For example, remember the Mercedes G-Wagon? It continued to be the same car for decades, and after getting facelifted, everyone loved it.

Still, there are loads of cars that are good but hard to look at. This is when facelifts come into play and give every model a second chance. If performed wisely and aesthetically right, the new version will have a new lease on life. The following is a list of 10 sports cars that received facelifts in the last 5 years, transformed for the better.

10 2016 Audi TT RS

Courtesy to its dynamic look, the Audi Sport tops other siblings in the TT model series. Available in both coupé and roadster configurations, it uses a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine delivering 335 horsepower and four-wheel-drive capability.

Looking quite stylish from the outside, the interior design, quality, and atmosphere also remind you of more exotic models with a double price tag. The performance is similar between both Audi TT RS Roadster and its TT RS Coupe model, but the later one offers you with a wind-in-the-hair feeling thanks to its quick-folding fabric top.

The 2017 Toyota 86 facelift made a debut at the 2016 New York International Auto Show. It went quite a significant update. On the front, new headlamps and heavily redesigned bumper give it a more fluid, aggressive look. Besides the new LED headlights, this time, the 86 logo appears on the front fenders.

On the inside, you enjoy putting your hands on a new steering wheel featuring audio control, and for the instrument panel surround, a soft-touch “Grandlux” material is used. Further invisible upgrades include revised spring and dampers for enhanced control and agile performance.

Both M3 and M4 are undoubtedly the most aggressive looking cars in the BMW M sport model history. They hit the market with kind of scoops and fans and nostrils that made them look harsh. Therefore, BMW decided to refresh them for the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

The BMW M4 received the Competition Package in 2016. At the time, engineers at German carmaker were obsessed with driving dynamics of the car and made some modifications to spring damper setup. In the 2017 BMW M4 Facelift, accelerated powertrain made 0-60 mph possible in under 4 seconds.

7 2018 Nissan 370Z

Nissan launched the 370Z model in 2009. At that time, seven years had passed since the 350Z model was offered. So basically, both models went with little change across them. The facelift, which came in 2018, mostly targeted the exterior of the car with tinted front and rear and door handles’ lights and a new design for its 19-inch alloy wheels.

The metallic Cherry red color option besides the slightly darker Bordeaux Red was another addition to this list. But according to Nissan, the higher-performance clutch facilitating the downshift performance was the most significant change.

6 2018 Ford Mustang

The 2018 Ford Mustang caused quite a stir among fans. While the most noticeable update was its design, there are lots of other tweaks like no more V6 engine, MagneRide dampers, and new active-safety tech.

In front, it looks most different from the older version. The new hood has plunged, and the grill looks a bit larger, giving it a broader and more pronounced facia. The LED headlights are placed inside restyled housing, and the whole body is more aerodynamic, offering a modern look. New LED taillights with smart bumper and spoiler complete the rear upgrade.

The 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata’s modifications truly transformed this already cool car into a beast on the market. As usual, the changes are beneath the hood and mostly performed due to customer feedback.

Mazda has put some real work into the MX-5 and come up with a handful of packages containing distinct features for extra pay, namely the GT-S, i-ActivSense Club, Brembo/BBS, and Brembo/BBS/Recaro packages. They all help in extracting yet more power and torque out of its naturally aspirated 2.0-liter SkyActiv engine. The two-seater coupe comes with 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque.

4 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63

The updated version of the C63 was only a mid-cycle one, so all the tweaks were mild. Mechanically, the coupe has stuck with its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which gives an output of 510hp. It is still a rear-wheel-drive, although this time was hiding a new nine-speed automatic transmission under its hood.

The Panamerica grille design, which is going to be a hallmark of every new AMG V8 model, is maintained. Despite being considered a front-engine, rear-drive sports car, the C63 S Coupe gives you a feeling of power, tune, and relaxation for real-world driving.

3 2019 Lexus RC

The 2019 Lexus RC coupe was refreshed to provide its fans with both new exterior styling tweaks and some interior upgrades to the suspension as well as steering and engine handling.

A new front bumper, new optional triple LED headlamps, and L-shaped LED clearance lamps are added to the front of it, while at the rear, you can notice air ducts attached to the corner of its bumpers along with revised taillights and a more noticeable L-shaped. The 2019 Lexus RC F Sport wears the same standard grille mesh pattern of all F Sports.

2 2020 Jaguar F-Type

The most apparent change to the facelifted Jaguar F-Type is the horizontally arrayed LED headlights plus the first time vented clamshell hood. Moreover, a redesigned front bumper, slightly larger grille, and side vents with an integrated leaper motif add an extra touch to its appearance. The tweaks continue at the back of it with fresh taillights featuring a rectangular dip.

Inside the cockpit, the driver can enjoy using the infotainment system upgraded with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as over-the-air updates. The base 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine completes the 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds.

1 2020 Chevrolet Camaro SS

Chevy Camaro facelift

The 2019 Chevy Camaro SS was discouraging, and its blacked-out front grille was to blame! It looked displaced, and so did the bowtie on the crossbar. Many customers voiced their displeasure, and folks at Chevy quickly promised to do something about it. As such, the 2020 Camaro SS applied design elements from the Camaro Shock Concept shown at SEMA.

There were yet more to come as Chevy added a new LT1 trim level, which along with preserving all the standard features of the original, also provided the 455 horsepower 6.2-liter V8 from the SS trim.
