The Corvette C6 Z06 is the first Corvette with exposed headlamps since 1962, so it really is quite special when it comes to its exterior design. These exposed headlamps give the car a real vintage and sporty feel. Although a small detail like the headlamps doesn't often stand out for most cars, it really does make this Corvette quite unique for its time.

What's more is that Corvette kitted out their C6 Z06 standard edition with impressive 18-inch front wheels and 19-inch rear wheels, which really boosted the ride's sporty feel.

Corvette produced the C6 models between 2005 and 2013, with the Z06 coming in the latter part of those eight years in 2011. The sale for the Z06 began in the summer of 2010. The limited-edition ride was available in two colors, Inferno Orange and an all-new Supersonic Blue. Both featured black exposed headlamps and ZR1-style spoiler, carbon fiber hood, and black carbon fiber rockers and splitter. The Z06 from Corvette's C6 line really was pretty cool when it comes to its exterior design.

A Cool Interior Too

The unique and fun design didn't stop at the exterior. Inside, the Corvette C6 Z06 was pretty special too. Its initial look boasts ebony leather and black suede seats with matching stitching and ceramic brakes. Further additions to the Z06 were Magnetic Selective Ride Control and a special carbon engine cover.

These features were only available as a collective for the Z06 Carbon Limited Edition car in Corvette's C6 lineup. What's more, is that only around 250 people were able to enjoy them. Although plans were to produce 500 models of the Corvette C6 Z06, only 252 were produced. The intricate detailing may have been too much with all of the other C6 Corvette's being made.

If you thought that the Z06 was a cool car outside, then you will surely have the same feeling inside. No matter what model you chose, it oozed fun and sportiness inside too.

The Corvette C6 Z06 Has Immense Speed

Corvette kitted out their C6 Z06 with a 7-liter V8 engine, which could top speeds of 199 mph. Its engine was codenamed the LS7, which is the most powerful production naturally aspirated engine made by General Motors. In fact, the C6 Z06 featured the largest-displacement small-block engine ever produced. Not only could it hit high speeds, but it could also reach 0 to 60 mph in an impressive 4.2 seconds.

The rear-wheel-drive could pump out 505 hp, and with indirect fuel injection, it was a fun car to ride around no matter how fast you wanted to go. It could beat the likes of the Porsche Panamera, which could top speeds of 186 mph. It was a truly fun car from the inside out.

Something For Everyone

Along with the standard model of the Corvette C6 Z06 and the Carbon Limited Edition, there was also a modified model known as the C06-R. The R model was not road legal but available to those who wanted to ride a modified Z06 around the race track.

The Z06-R featured in the FIA GT3 European Championship series as a GT3 class car, alongside the likes of a Porsche 911 GT3. Changes made to the R model were to enhance its endurance. Features included a stripped interior, full roll cage for safety, center-locking wheels, carbon fiber doors, rear deck spoiler, and front splitter. It could offer incredible fun, and although it wasn't available for the streets, it could offer something to those who were happy to ride it around the track.

In our opinion, the C6 Z06 model from Corvette really was special. It oozed fun and excitement from the inside out and was a true sports car through and through. From its immense speed and power to its vintage yet futuristic exterior, the Z06 was a special edition of the C6 lineup, and there isn't anything negative to say about it. There is a lot to love about the Corvette C6 Z06, and we think our favorite feature has to be its incredible stand-out engine.
