It’s 2022 and the Corvette is now 70 years old, an anniversary that the 2023 model year Corvette Stingray and Z06 models commemorate.

Chevrolet has announced a special 70th Anniversary Edition package of its favorite child, and there’s even more excitement this time, considering the buzzy C8, the first-ever mid-engined Corvette.

Steve Majoros, vice president, Chevrolet marketing said, “Passion for Corvette runs deep at Chevrolet and this anniversary is extra special because of the excitement and sales success we’ve achieved with the eighth generation of America’s iconic sports car. Even after 70 years, Corvette still makes hearts race and kids dream of the open road.”

The 70th Anniversary Edition Corvettes will come in two colors only: an all-new White Pearl Metallic Tri-coat or Carbon Flash Metallic. Customers can opt for contrasting stripes as well, satin gray on the white option and satin black with the black exterior color.

The wheels of the 70th Anniversary Edition Corvettes will come with separate and distinct commemorative wheel center caps for both the Stingray and Z06. The interiors will come in two-tone ceramic leather GT2 or Competition Sport seats with red accents in the stitching, seatbelts, as well as suede microfiber seat inserts, and steering wheel.

There are plenty more features so that interested buyers can customize their kind of ‘Vette, with the 2023 Corvette Z06 visualizer live on chevrolet.com.

The first-ever mid-engine Corvette Z06 will not only be a 70th Anniversary Edition, but it will also do some good. The Corvette Z06 bearing VIN 001 is off to auction at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022.

The proceeds of this auction will go to Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit that focuses on helping military families after they have done their bit for society. Chevy is a partner with Operation Homefront since 2017, having provided Silverado trucks as well as donating funds.

To add to an already starry event, former Corvette Racing driver Oliver Gavin will drive this very 2023 Corvette Z06 auction vehicle, to bring in even more funds to the nonprofit.

2023 is building up superbly for the Corvette, although for the normal ‘Vette fan, it’s the performance of the Z06 that’s spiking up the adrenalin. That, and the looks of the Stingray. America’s favorite sports car is certainly holding on to its title, and climbing even more in popularity, with good reason.
