There’s a used Corvette on sale with a price tag so outrageous you’ll do a spit take.

If you’re in the market for a new Corvette, Autotrader is a pretty good bet to get your hands on a pretty good deal. Corvettes are, after all, budget supercars, so if you have some spending money in your pocket and a burning desire to go really fast, then the venerable Chevy is probably your best option.

However, there is a Corvette for sale in Georgia that is priced more like a used Bugatti than a used Chevy.

The price? $499,900.

Now, Corvettes are not cheap in the traditional sense of the word, but they’re normally a far cry from half a million dollars. This one, a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport, is actually $435,000 more than its MSRP.

But of course, this is no ordinary Corvette Grand Sport. It’s, in fact, a Yenko Corvette Grand Sport, a factory converted model that takes the usual 6.2-L V8 producing 460 horses (yawn) and replaces it with a 6.8-L supercharged V8 that produces just over 800 hp (huzzah!).

Along with the bigger engine, there was the obvious aftermarket bodywork including the more prominent front spoiler, custom paint job, as well as Yenko badging everywhere you looked

The Yenko-modified Grand Sport cost an additional $46,000 over the usual $65-70,000 of a regular Grand Sport, bringing the total price to the $120,000 range depending on options. So we’re nearly a quarter of the way to the half a million asking price, but we’re still missing a lot of car.

The rest of the price is all wrapped up in collectible style. This particular Yenko Grand Sport is the first Grand Sport ever made, filled with number one decals and badging as proof. It also has only 475 miles on the odometer, so this is as good as new as it’ll ever be.

A salesperson for the dealer told Jalopnik that the owner originally wanted $750,000, but has since dropped their asking price. Even $499,900 sounds steep, but apparently, there have been a few bites already, so maybe it’ll actually sell for that much.
