General Motors began delivering the new C8 Corvette earlier this year, so the internet has become chock-full of happy owners enjoying their new toys amid the global coronavirus lockdown. There have been some early issues reported, as would be expected with any new model, though the overall impression seems to be that Chevy delivered pretty solidly on the promise of a new, affordable, mid-engined supercar.

But amid reports that higher-spec options packages could be delayed indefinitely, the current Z51 appears to be the range-topping C8 for the foreseeable future, which makes the fact that the National Corvette Museum is raffling off a trio of Corvettes all the more attractive.

The National Corvette Museum (NCM) might be most famous for the massive 2014 sinkhole that opened up and swallowed eight cars. But as hype around the newly redesigned C8 grew, a marketing opportunity clearly presented itself and the NCM enacted a couple of schemes including a chance to take the C8 out on the track for a nominal cost. But a raffle presents an even bigger chance to raise funds, as the Porsche Club of America and BMW Car Club of America have clearly realized in recent years.

What Are The Chances

The Corvettes being raffled come in various trim packages and the tickets cost anywhere from $20 to $200, based largely on each car's desirability and options. Each winner will receive the car at the NCM, after which they will receive a hands-on training session covering the details of their new supercar. Additional benefits include a tour of the museum, a one-year membership, and a possible VIP tour of the nearby General Motors Bowling Green Assembly Plant (depending on the state of the world). The raffle end dates are spread out over the next four months.
