German tuners Novitec started out tuning Ferraris, releasing their first project in 2004. Since then, they've got to work on all manner of supercars, expanding their range to include Lamborghinis, McLarens, and more. Of course, using such amazing cars as a starting point means that it's difficult to go wrong. But, even so, it's great to see how Novitec has managed to wring every extra ounce of performance and style out of these machines.
As with most tuning houses, the exact specification of each build is up to the customer, making each example unique in its own way. It's a level of exclusivity that's impossible to find at regular manufacturers, that is unless the collector has the mountains of cash needed for a factory one-off special. These Novitec-tuned supercars are the best of the best examples of the brand's mantra of "performance en vogue."
8 Ferrari 812 Superfast
Even though they're completely bespoke, there are a few staple upgrades that can be found on any Novitec build. This 812 Superfast is a good example of Novitec's bread-and-butter enhancements, including carbon-fiber accents, reworked aero and a new set of Novitec forged rims.
Of course, the Ferrari's internals wasn't left stock either. The car sports a custom-built performance exhaust and Satin Black tailpipes to complement the car's black-and-white exterior look.
7 McLaren 765LT
Another thing to know about Novitec is that they don't do things by halves. In the case of the McLaren 765LT, their aim was to improve the car's performance stats, which were already impressive from the stock vehicle.
Their handiwork now means that the car does 0-60 in just 2.5 seconds, and has a power-to-weight ratio on par with some hypercars. As well as sporting insane performance figures, it's also a great-looking redesign of the McLaren too.
6 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ
Lamborghini's current top-spec Aventador is the SVJ, a fearsome machine that can wipe the floor with almost any other car in its class. Its design is supposedly inspired by the brand's competition race cars, and so Novitec carried on that racing theme by making it even more competitive.
It sports Novitec's signature carbon fiber aero enhancements, as well as a new set of rims that shave a few kilos off the weight of the car. The suspension of the car is lower than stock to really reinforce the SVJ's mean look, and of course, there's a new exhaust to make the car's V12 even louder.
5 Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale
The GranTurismo MC Stradale is one of Novitec's earliest non-Ferrari projects, but take a closer look at the Maserati's internals and it's clear to see why. The stock GranTurismo actually uses a Ferrari-developed engine, which makes it very similar to the products that Novitec was already working on at the time.
Because of that, it was fairly simple for Novitec to boost the car's power up to 646 hp, giving it enough horses to leave cars like the Ferrari 458 Italia standing. The car also paved the way for the company to start work on other manufacturers' cars, which proved to be a pivotal decision in the company's history.
4 Ferrari F8 Tributo
How can a company take something as capable as an F8 Tributo and make it even better? Add more power of course. The Novitec package now pushes 802 hp, a nearly 100 hp leap over the stock car's 710 hp. Owners who decide that's a bit much can opt for the lesser Stage 2 tuning package, but that just seems like copping out.
As well as performance upgrades, the car gets a suite of visual enhancements too. There's a new set of rims made by Vossen, a revised rear splitter, exposed carbon side skirts, and performance coilover springs. It all makes for one very appealing package for anyone looking to make their F8 Tributo a bit more special.
3 Rolls-Royce Phantom
Most cars that undergo the Novitec treatment have two seats and a mid-engine layout, but not this luxury land barge. As unlikely as it might seem, the company has taken a Rolls-Royce Phantom and turned it into a full-on supercar.
The build has been developed by a subdivision of the Novitec Group called SPOFEC. They specialize in Rolls-Royce models, designing parts, especially for the British brand's cars. For the Phantom, they've developed a remapped ECU, a host of custom bodywork parts, and those brilliantly imposing 8-spoke wheels.
2 McLaren Senna
McLaren's Senna was designed to push the boundaries of supercar performance, so tuning it needed an equally bold vision and push for innovation. That's why Novitec's package makes use of Inconel, a cutting-edge superalloy that's designed for extreme pressure and heat.
Inconel is also completely corrosion-resistant so it's the perfect choice for a car where each part has to withstand huge forces every time it accelerates. The Senna's power is also boosted to a huge 902 hp, which in a car this light is nothing short of terrifying to drive.
1 Lamborghini Huracan Performante
The top-spec baby Lambo was an obvious candidate for Novitec's performance team to get their hands on, and the resulting car looks nothing short of spectacular. It's not the most radical of transformations, but then the Performante was a gorgeous car, to begin with.
It's not all about looks though, as each Novitec part has had extensive wind tunnel testing to make sure it's as effective as it is good-looking. The new parts use a mix of composites, but the signature exposed carbon fiber has to take the prize for the coolest upgrade. Although some car fans would say a machine as good as the Performante shouldn't be messed with, this Novitec build surely proves them all wrong.
