The modern era of high-performance off-roading pickup trucks leapt into a realm of absolute absurdity with the 702-horsepower Ram TRX, which dwarfs the Ford F-150 Raptor in power, size, and price. But all the long-travel suspension, four-wheel-drive systems, and overland camping rigs emerging as true market forces seem to largely leave diesel power behind. And, of course, nothing can beat a classic pickup when it comes to style.

But this immaculate Dodge Power Wagon that just popped up for sale on the auction site Bring a Trailer combines a Cummins turbodiesel engine with a blacked-out exterior and custom interior that should justify an absolutely monstrous bidding frenzy.

Restomodded With An Extended Cab And Suicide Doors

The Power Wagon's iconic style gets a revamp here, with a stretched cab that allows seating for five thanks to rear-swinging suicide doors. The components for the bed came from Vintage Power Wagons, while the front panel and rear tailgate came from DMC Classics—and the bed itself looks cleaner than any high-class bar with a stained and varnished surface just begging for some lumber to scratch it up.

Under the hood, the main attraction comes in the form of a Cummins turbodiesel inline-six that was rebuilt and now features over-bored cylinders to increase the displacement above 5.9 liters. Complementary works included a polished crankshaft, new turbos, and all the pumps and seals, too.

The powerplant routes grunt through a four-speed automatic on the way to a true dual-range transfer case, a Dana 60 front end with locking hubs, and a Dana 70 rear differential. Damping comes courtesy of remote-reservoir King coilovers, while disc brakes all around hide beneath 17-inch Fuel Beast wheel and 40-inch Toyo mud terrains.

Cadillac CTS Seats And Air Conditioning

The interior received appointments such as leather bucket seats from a Cadillac CTS, plus air conditioning, an alarm, a Pioneer touchscreen with Bluetooth, and a custom steering wheel that even houses a 1949 Frankling half-dollar coin in the horn button.

Other fun details range from a Braden front winch to halo headlights and electric side steps. Befitting a classic with all the modern goodies and turbodiesel power—not to mention the extensively documented work that went into the build—bidding already sits at $133,000 with five days remaining until the final gavel.
