In the world of drag racing, power is one of the most important ingredients for winning. This is why many drag racers drive powerful cars or even take matters into their hands by building their own cars. After all, power is what makes a car move from a standstill.

This 1963 Chevrolet Chevy II isn’t a car you’d want to drive against. After all, this Chevy II is a very potent drag racing machine that competes in “The Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings” TV show. It’s currently getting ready for the series and a FuelTech USA video shows it can make more than 3,000 hp of max output to the wheels.

Daddy Dave Is Back To Street Drag Racing!

To this day, Chevrolet has never built a production car that could deliver at least 1,000 hp. Its closest offering would be the Corvette C7 ZR1 with around 755 hp. Chevrolet, however, does offer a crate engine that delivers around 1,000 hp without any boost. But for David “Daddy Dave” Comstock, that power is puny since his 1963 Chevrolet Chevy II dubbed as the “Goliath 2.0” delivers more than three times the amount.

Once a top guy in the Street Outlaws, Daddy Dave is back to street drag racing this year after seven years of hiatus. Daddy Dave temporarily quit drag racing after a near-fatal crash in his first Goliath car during a no-prep race in Texas in 2015. Now that one of the legendary street drag racers has returned to the scene, The No Prep Kings series should be more thrilling to watch as it airs on Discovery Channel. Of course, Goliath 2.0 is a big part of Daddy Dave’s massive comeback.

Daddy Dave has tapped Steve Petty, one of Pro Line Racing’s most prolific tuners, to prepare Goliath 2.0 for the No Prep Kings series. Powered by Pro Line’s all-billet Outlaw HEMI engine, Goliath 2.0 employs Alan Johnson Performance Engineering cylinder heads and engine block, as well as a ProCharger F-3X-140 centrifugal supercharger. It also employs FuelTech’s top-of-the-line FT600 engine management system, allowing Goliath to smoothly run during the race day.

As Steve tunes Goliath 2.0, there is a need to see the results of the tuning works. After initial tuning, Goliath 2.0 road on FuelTech’s Mainline Hub Dyno to measure the Outlaw HEMI engine’s power output on the wheels. Initial numbers were at 2,869 hp on the wheels. Eventually, the output figures reached an incredible 3,146 hp on the wheels.
