A son cannot surprise his car-crazy dad every day, but on the YouTube channel Scott’s Speed Shop, run by Jedediah Scott, Jed managed to do just that, along with his dad, of course.

The video details the work done on the resto-mod as well as Scott Sr.’s first ride in the ratty 640-horsepower Dodge Charger they have dubbed Jezebel.

Jezebel Is a 1970 Dodge Charger Brought Back To Life

The channel describes itself as “a young bumbling Mopar guy and his wise old Mopar wizard of a father, working on various Mopar and non-Mopar projects alike. Covering everything from building engines, rear differentials, setting up carburetors, and porting/polishing, to even the occasional dream car build. You will certainly find something that should help kill 10-20 minutes and hopefully entertain you at the same time.”

And the Jezebel is certainly entertaining enough as a 640-horsepower, 4-speed 1970 Dodge Charger that looks ratty but can kick up a cloud of dust.

It runs on a 500ci big-block Mopar motor and a Tunnel with twin Holleys. The other additions that let it jet 640 horses are Chrysler 18 spline A833, White Hedman Race headers, RAM twin-disc clutch, Hydramax throwout bearing, and finally, Strange Dana 60.

As one Instagram fan commented: “That's what you call a Charger sleeper they make it look like it isn't perfect and s--t is not done to it on the outside but under the hood, they have a surprise monster running with nice patina.”

A Big Smile On The Face

The video starts with Jedidiah talking about a lot of the changes done to the car, and how he likes to ride it even when he runs errands, to rack up those 500 miles to truly open out the car and its engine. He calls the ratty Charger “dependable” and finally, it’s time to take Scott Sr. for a ride, to show off what all the Jezebel can do.

Jedidiah’s dad wore a big smile on his face throughout the ride, though it slipped a little when the joyride became a little too fast and attracted a Sheriff’s car.

While fans of the channel loved what they had done to the Jezebel, they loved the father-son interaction, even more, seeing how much dad loved the car and what Jedidiah had done to it. While Jedidiah seemed wary of going full throttle, we think dad would have been completely at home chewing up roads in the Jezebel.
