Remember the outlandish gold behemoth of an armored SUV that Aladeen was chauffeured in the comedy masterpiece - The Dictator? That "thing" was a creation by Latvian madmen from Dartz Motorz (No, that isn't a typo).

The armored vehicle manufacturer is back for 2022 with another mental creation based on their Black Alligator MMXX. Called the Black Tiger Lunar Year Edition, this limited-run orange-black SUV is inspired by a tiger to celebrate the Chinese New Year. While it might not look anything like the donor now, this special edition is based on a Mercedes-Maybach GLS600.

Yes, we are baffled by the level of transformation here. While this mad machine looks to be very hefty and a slouch, Dartz Motorz has shocked us with the fact that their creation, with all that added armor, still weighs in at approximately the same 5,919-pound as the donor car.

It also pumps out more horses. The armor has a lot of secret ingredients and its interior is equally outlandish with alligator-sourced black leather and contrasting aged-gold trimming. This thing is the exact opposite of what a sane person can think of!

Dartz Motorz Is Known For Its Outlandish Creations

A quick scroll through dartzmotorz.com will give you an idea of how bold these guys are. They have different divisions dedicated to automobile, movie, opulence, boutique, and even aeronautical. Their logo looks straight out of a zombie-killing apocalypse game. And their "Carz" section has three distinct monstrosities, including the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Chassis-based Prombron' The Dictator Aladeen.

The Prombrom Black Stallion is the comparatively smaller looking of the bunch. To give you an intro of their outlandish appeal, the website treats you with the tagline - "Bulletproof opulence trusted by billionaires, tzars, superstars, generals, and dictators since 1869". We ain't kidding!

Yes! This Was A Mercedes-Maybach GLS600

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 is a "bouncy" luxurious affair that portrays the pinnacle of German excellence in an SUV. This uber-cool and smooth-looking German is what the madmen at Dartz Motorz chose as the underpinning for this orange-black monstrosity.

This tank uses the same twin-turbo V8 from the donor car, but Dartz states an increase in performance. There are no solid details about it, but it has an additional 100 - 300 horses. Our guess is a bigger turbo-setup and performance intake-exhaust combo, coupled with a clever ECU update.

The First Civilian Car To Use GBOL

The shocker here is the Black Alligator MMXX Special Edition's weight. Despite the use of all that armor, Dartz's creation still weighs in at under 6,000 pounds, whereas the donor car weighs 5,919 pounds. This accounts for negligible weight gain.

This is because of a clever technology developed by the dudes at Dartz called GBOL. This tech consists of a modern composite armor that includes three types of non-metal armors. When Leonard Yankelovich, founder of DARTZ, was asked about this tech by the guys at Autoevolution.com, he didn't even spill out its full form.

This tech has only been applied to military vehicles, and he prefers not to patent it for secrecy issues. According to him, the Prombron Black Alligator MMXX Black Tiger Lunar Year Edition is the world's first civilian vehicle to use GBOL tech in its armor. Dartz has strived on shaving off weight, which is rarely seen in armored vehicles.

It also uses Saint Goblin's Saphire Glass technology to make thinner glasses without any loss of ballistic properties. Yankelovich is very serious about weight loss for all his armored vehicles because the extreme load ends up compromising suspension systems.

Straight Out Of A Video Game With An Intimidating Orange-Black Exterior

Don't expect to go the stealth route with this black-orange monster! The bright orange shade symbolized the year of the tiger and gives this beefed-up Maybach a funky appeal. The design language makes it look right out of a video game and has strong Cyberpunk 2077 vibes going on. Everything is sharp and rugged looking, and there is not a single curve on its body. Cool aero-blade wheels with orange brake calipers complement its futuristic design. And Dartz doesn't call this an SUV, but a BOND (Bespoke Opulent Noble Drive). Got to love these guys for being creative!

The Interior Is Wilder With alligator Leather And Reel-To-Rell Tape Player

The interior gets wackier for the Lunar Edition. Dartz will offer extravagant leather options, including alligator skin. Contrasting the all-black upholstery layouts are dials and inserts finished in an aged gold shade. We aren't sure if it's actual gold, but we won't be surprised if it is! Adding to the uniqueness is an audio system from Metaxas & Sins, which consists of a reel-to-reel tape player. These were a rave back in the 1960s.

A Wild Car For A Wild Audience

The target audience for Dartz's mental creations has always been eccentric. Just like how Blacked-out Caddies are famous among celebrities in the US, the Prombron is a rave among tycoons of South East Asia and the emerging K-Pop stars. And people opting for oddities like this aren't concerned about the pricing. Because of which, Dartz Motors most probably will not be revealing the Black Tiger Lunar Year Edition's price tag!
