What we have here, is another render from the prolific digital artisan otherwise known as JLord8 on Instagram – and it’s only a Land Rover Defender, but it has a dual personality.

Or should we say, a ‘dual-wheeled personality’ as it continues the artists series of artwork regarding ‘dually’ versions of iconic cars, trucks and SUVs.

The sky is the limit when it comes to custom renders although there has to be a story to tell: let’s see where this story begins.

The JLord8 Custom Land Rover Defender Dually Has Presence

At the beginning of this story is a Land Rover Defender, one of the new (L663) versions that began production in 2020 by the Jaguar-Land Rover group.

That car is a modern and capable SUV with real off-road capability and kudos, but it can also offer surprising comfort and refinement on-road too.

What is doesn’t have is a cheap, workingman or workingwoman’s version, that you can throw a lawnmower or three in the back of.

One that could take heavy amounts of wear and tear day after day from tools, boots and rubble.

While we’re at it, there could be a dually version with real towing capacity and unbeatable traction, like a Ford F-350, which is presumably how JLord8 got to this Land Rover Defender Dually concept.

The dually we have here, is a single-cab design, with a boxy-shaped cabin that gives way to a long bed and the two noticeable twin rear wheels, extending outwards wide-body-style.

It’s black, and the cabin roof is in white, the flared rear wheel arches look muscular and dare we say – awesome – with the iconic modern Defender grille and lights up front.

Rugged-yet-premium SUVs and trucks are in vogue, as people warm to the idea of large vehicles with the capability to haul anything and go anywhere in style and comfort.

What better way to transport your lifestyle accessories and equipment than with this, a truck that could also tow a jet ski, quad bike or caravan at the same time.

Under the hood of this beast could be the engine from a Ford F-150 Raptor R, the 5.2-liter supercharged V8 with 700 hp.

JLord8’s other dually-series renders also work well, proving that the super-duty, dually formula shows potential; this one is maybe a little unexpected, but the Defender’s pretty face looks surprisingly natural with a heavy-duty truck at the rear.
