Just saying “DeLorean” brings with it a mass of tales for Hollywood that involve drug trafficking, swindling, and anything else that would fit a scandalous million-dollar blockbuster movie. Alexandre Claudin’s DMC DeLorean, on the other hand, tells a different story. It’s a story that’s more heated, adrenaline-packed, peppy-fast, and involves a Chevrolet LS3 V8.

Two years ago, Alexandre Claudin began a journey that’s just paying off. He embarked on a project to build a unique drift car out of a DMC DeLorean. One of America's most unique Sportscars.

Unique Frontal LS-3 V8 Layout

A lot of sweat and man-hours have gone into this build, but it all started when he set out to visit Blood Motorsport in a small city known as Montmerle-Sur-Saône in France. Here he picked up a custom-made tubular chassis that had a BMW rear suspension.

Alexandre went in for a front-engine layout using a Chevrolet LS3 V8 motor instead of doing the more common rear-engine design.

He’s not the only one to consider an LS-swap. The LS-swap is perhaps the most common and successful mod done in America. It could be the single most potent and most straightforward swap to do, and it’s been done on all vehicles you could think of, including an FD RX-7 and a Range Rover.

LS-swaps on DeLoreans aren’t rare, but what makes Alexandre’s drifter rare is its frontal setup. In this video, in his true fashion, he shows off his build driving it for the very first time in full street racing gear complete with Platin tires and Giovad wheels.

A Dramatic Reveal that was Worth the Wait

When the video starts, the DeLorean reverses out of the back of the truck in a dramatic scene. It’s not remote control driven, but the video mix makes it seem like it’s doing a burnout through remote control.

The car has heavy street car decals with a massive ducktail wing. The LS-3 V8 roars behind the video music, and there’s a steady rolling clip of the car driving in a tunnel. The wing doors flip open, and the interior has a roll cage and a complete custom dash and steering wheel setup.

It’s pretty stunning what Alexandre Claudin and Blood Motorsports have done. It’s a mix of the old American sports age and the new rebellious street drift-style design. His DeLorean is a unicorn, and you could quickly point it out mingled with a dozen others.

Alexandre Claudin’s DeLorean LS-3 swapped drift car might have taken a lot of time to build, but it was sure worth the wait.
