Automotive YouTuber Dennis Collins'Automotive YouTuber Dennis Collins' latest classic car rescue breaks the cycle of seeking out Ford Shelby Mustangs and Jeep CJs.

This time, he's found an epic 1973.5 Porsche 911T that needs a new home. After a trip to the "middle of nowhere" Indiana, Collins makes a quick deal to acquire the 50-year-old Porsche sports car owned for 31 years by an older couple.

A Porsche 911T Classic With Many Pleasant Surprises

After some effort, Collins starts the Porsche and remarks, "It's very rare that I buy one that actually runs." The surprises continue inside the cabin as he discovers a tan interior and dual sport seats up front, which add to the car's uniqueness.

Collins hints at keeping this 911T as an addition to his two dozen other Porsches. But don't get surprised if he puts some of Stuttgart's finest up for sale as part of a themed Porsche offering, as he did in late 2021 with his massive grouping of classic Jeeps.

Whether relying on his vast knowledge or doing homework ahead of time, it's rare for Collins to get stumped by something contained in one of his rescues. But that's the case with this 911's rims.

Unlike the typical five-spoke Fuchs wheels common to Porsches from this era, Collins' target has what he believes to be aftermarket units from EMPI. But an investigation uncovers these to be Porsche-supplied wheels. The only remaining unanswered question is if they came from the factory.

The 911T in Collins' video has a special status with some Porsche lovers, as it marked the introduction of Bosch CIS (continuous injection system) fuel injection. It's a late model-year update that led to these cars getting a 1973.5 designation. Bosch CIS also appeared in down-the-food-chain vehicles, like the VW Golf GTI hot hatchback, into the 1990s.

With the Bosch system, these 2.4-liter six-cylinder Porsches served up 140 horsepower, a respectable number for a half-century ago. These examples are highly sought after by collectors, as evidenced by Collins' enthusiasm for his latest acquisition. A look through Bring A Trailer.com's auction history reveals similar models going for mid-to-upper-five figures, and pristine same-year 911Ts easily cross the $100,000 mark.
