For many Lamborghini lovers, the Countach is often considered the greatest car the company has ever produced. It went through several iterations during its production run and is always seen as one of the most revolutionary car designs in the world. And when one comes up for auction, they typically go for a pretty significant sum of money. Especially if they are like this 1990 Countach 25th Anniversary edition, for sale on RM Sotheby’s and set to go for over $300,000.

This sensational Countach 25th Anniversary edition came to be in the final year of production of the Lamborghini Countach. It left the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory in March 1990, and was then delivered new to the Lamborghini agent Achillimotors of Milan.

The car was originally in Rosso with Champagne upholstery, but it was soon repainted in the 1990s into its current Giallo livery but still with the Champagne leather interior. After passing through various dealerships, it was eventually sold in April 1993 and has had the same family owner since that date. The repaint was also carried out during its time in the dealerships' hands.

The original owner cared for the car superbly and had it regularly serviced by Italian mechanic Sergio Rossi. Upon the owner's death, his eldest son took over the care of the car and would use it from March to September, but only ever in dry conditions. Rossi would continue to maintain the car, which was then stored at the same private garage facility the son's father had stored the car at. But it was effectively taken off the road in March 2020 after the Covid-19 pandemic took a hold on the world. Prior to that, chassis number 12961 was also used regularly for traveling between Turin and Monaco.

This incredible Countach has had a lot of care over the years. It retains the original matching-numbers engine and the odometer reads just 27,495 km or around 17,000 miles. The car will come with a lot of documentation such as the original bill of sale, selected invoices plus a Lamborghini leather folio with the service book and user manual. This Countach has been the pride and joy of a single family for nearly three decades now, and hopefully, its new owner will look after it just as well as they have done.
