The 2023 Nissan Z is undoubtedly a great-looking car. Bros FOURR Speed YouTube channel are lucky enough to have early access to one and instead of looking for things to unfairly nitpick on the car, our presenter is going a different route. In a very Doug DeMuro way, he will show us all the Z's crazy little quirks and features.

A Backstory To The New 2023 Nissan Z In The Garage

The 2023 Nissan Z sitting in our host's garage is the Z Performance, which is replacing the outgoing 370Z. Our host has already owned two 370zs and intends to purchase the new Z. Although he loves the car and is ready to purchase it, he is not ready to make a “5 things he hates” video just yet because he has not driven the car enough to give a proper nitpicking review, however, as he is so experienced with the Nissan Z lineage, he can tell us things that they have improved upon.

Eight Crazy Ways To Fall In Love With The Nissan Z

We begin with the fuel filler cap. He compares the size of the gas cap with his hand. While completely opening his hand and placing it on the cap, he tells us there's an extra two inches longer than his hand. Opening the cap gives view to a very oddly shaped fuel filler. Of course, the arch in the rear quarter panel is the reason for the large-cap, but it is odd regardless. The fuel filler door, however, does lock when the doors lock, which is a pretty cool feature. Although, no one has actually sucked gas out of a tank since 1985 we think it's a great feature.

Next, our presenter shows us the confusing muffler system. Confusing to say the least. The muffler joins the two exhaust pipes, but in a way that can be easily bypassed. This causes a great rumble at lower RPMs but as our host shows us at the 2:25 mark, at the higher RPM it just sounds like wind.

Buttons, Buttons, And More Buttons Make This Z Special

The next feature he shows is already available on cars like Mercedes E classes that have been available for many generations, which is holding the unlock button on the key fob to open all the windows. However, as our host points out, holding the lock button does not close the windows. This is a safety issue.

Next, he shows us that the car has a button to open the rear hatch, unlike most cars you need to unlock it with the fob or inside the car. He also shows us the seats which host the buttons for controlling positioning on the inside of the seat near the console.

The last button he shows us is for sport mode, which is on the center console. Pushing this puts the car into either sport or standard, but does not change the instrument cluster. To achieve this, you have to go into settings and a whole slew of options to change the instrument cluster dynamic.

Finally, he shows us something familiar to all Z generation owners. The lack of an extra cup holder. It appears that importantly, Nissan has listened to their clients, and designed something quite clever — once you open the center console cover, you're presented with another cup holder. *Angelic music ensues.
