The original Ford GT40 was designed to beat Ferrari on the track, and it does a great job of being cool and expensive. The Ford GT lines up with a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost engine, producing 647 HP and 550lb-ft. The Ford GT is decently quick, hitting a quarter-mile in 10.9 seconds.
Slower than the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and sitting at a wallet burning $500,000, the Ford GT is almost six times as expensive as the Hellcat. All that money to be beaten by the Hellcat.
7 Lamborghini Aventador S
Lamborghini has fast cars, and the Aventador S is one of the fastest in the lineup. The Lamborghini Aventador S brings an insane 6.5L V12 engine capable of 730 HP and 509lb-ft. With a top speed of 217 MPH and a 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, the Aventador looks to beat the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. But it can't. With a quarter-mile time of 10.7 seconds, it finishes in second.
It looks like it's time for a fleet of Hellcats! Lamborghini is known for its luxury as well as speed, and the price reflects that. Starting at $421,000, the Lamborghini Aventador S is more than four times as expensive as the Dodge Challenger Hellcat.
6 Aston Martin Vantage
Across the pond is the British company, Aston Martin. Aston Martin produces a beautiful supercar known as the Vantage. Using an AMG engine, the Aston Martin Vantage shows up with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine. It puts 503 HP and 505lb-ft of James Bond-style to the track. Hitting the quarter-mile in 11.7 seconds, however, has the Challenger Hellcat outpacing it.
Aston Martin prices the Vantage starting at $139,000. Good luck trying to keep up with that monster! For that kind of money, some serious upgrades could be made to a stock Hellcat.
5 Mercedes-AMG GT R
German engineering attempts to keep up with American muscle with the Mercedes-AMG GT R. The GT R uses an M718 engine tuned to provide an astounding 577 HP and 516lb-ft. They are bringing almost a top speed of 200MPH to the starting line, the Mercedes-AMG GT R faulters with a paltry 14.9 seconds in the quarter-mile.
Starting at $165,000, the Mercedes-AMG GT R is a slow supercar that takes 1.5 times longer than the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat to complete the drag race. And at almost half the cost, the Hellcat is twice the beast the Mercedes-AMG GT R is.
4 Audi R8 V10 Performance
Audi puts up the R8 V10 Performance against the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. A decent upgrade under the hood is the incredible V10 engine, pumping 612 HP to the rear wheels. Tony Stark may trust this car to save the world, but it crosses in second place with 11.5 seconds down a quarter-mile strip.
Audi's R8 V10 Performance may be pinnacle Audi, but starting at $148,000, the Audi R8 V10 Performance is more pricey and less racy.
3 Acura NSX
The Acura NSX brings Japanese design into the mix. Using a unique hybrid-electric system, the 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 can bust out almost 600 HP. Using lightweight materials such as aluminum and ultra-high strength steel, the NSX features power and reduced weight. However, with a quarter-mile time of 11.2 seconds, it still fails to beat the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
The Acura NSX starts at $169,500, which is almost twice as expensive as the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and still can't keep up with this American muscle car.
2 Jaguar F-Type SVR
Another entry from across the pond, the Jaguar F-Type SVR, keeps up with Acura, but not with the Hellcat! The Jaguar F-Type SVR brings a 5.0L turbo V8 engine to the race. With only 567HP and 516lb-ft, the Jaguar F-Type SVR struggles against the Challenger Hellcat with a time of 11.2 seconds in a drag race.
At $123,000, it's a better deal than most others but is still almost $40,000 more than the Hellcat. The Jaguar F-Type SVR is clearly about having money and not about winning drag races.
1 BMW M5
The only real challenge to the Challenger Hellcat is the BMW M5. BMW M5 is the competition-level supercar for the Bavarian motor company. The BMW M5 brings a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 to the race and is a competitor with 0-60 in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 155MPH. The race is close, but at 10.9 seconds, the BMW M5 finishes almost 2 seconds behind the Hellcat.
The BMW M5 may be the closest in terms of cost to the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, but at $103,000, it still stands as too pricey! However cheaper the BMW M5 is compared to the Ford GT, it still can't compete with the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
