To the despair of the automotive community, the Dodge Charger has gone electric in 2022 with the Charger Daytona SRT Concept.

In itself, the new EV concept is a great addition to the motoring world with great performance figures, a throaty engine noise coming from the speakers and last but not least, epic styling.

Though as ever, we've found a version of the upcoming 2024 Dodge Charger that looks even better than the standard model, a station wagon, in a render posted to Instagram yesterday by jlord8.

Could This Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept Station Wagon Be The Ultimate Muscle EV?

From the new Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept's launch, it was surely not its looks that people were criticizing. In fact, with its mean LED light bars, long body and recognizable features, the new concept EV is the ultimate muscle car for the dystopian future.

That's not to say that the car's design can't look better. We often say that some of the coolest American cars are station wagons, and thanks to this render, the same is surely true for the new Dodge muscle car.

RELATED: Why The Dodge Challenger SRT Deserves The Best Muscle Car Farewell PartyThe wide haunches from the real car are still present in this render, giving the car a strong stance, while the longer, flatter roofline makes for a sharp side profile that could cut its way through diamonds.

As well as looking the part, a station wagon body style always adds storage space in the back, so this model should be the ultimate American cruiser. Plenty of space for a long road trip, while the performance of the real-world, standard model should provide a lot of fun on the more curvaceous roads.

A lack of weight saving effort, bold styling and massive power figures, electric vehicles and muscle cars aren't all that different on paper, despite reaching those ridiculous numbers in very different ways. Therefore, in a world where combustion engines have to disappear for the time being, maybe an electric Dodge Charger isn't such a bad idea.

Dodge says its Charger Daytona SRT Concept is more powerful than the current Hellcat variant, which in its lowest spec exceeds the 700 horsepower mark, and the concept car certainly had a great sound, albeit fake engine noise produced by speakers.

Though after discovering this render, if we could get an official station wagon of the next Dodge muscle car in its most powerful variant, we would be even happier.
