Which is the fastest Dodge Charger in the world? If you said a Hellcat, YouTube channel 1320Video just proved you wrong.

The fastest Dodge Charger in the world is way more unassuming, not all that new, and does not look capable enough of the speeds it zips at, although the hole in the hood should have given us a hint. Here’s the lowdown on the swiftest Charger ever, yet…

A 2006 Dodge Charger, Swapped

Once the introduction ends and the actual video begins, in rolls a silver 2006 Dodge Charger, with a black carbon fiber hood, and a blower sticking out in the middle. It revs something insane, and that should have told us that this is no ordinary Charger.

As it raced down the track to hit a quarter-mile, the results dropped jaws on the tarmac. The Charger zipped the quarter-mile in 8.223 seconds, at a top speed of 168.98 mph. As it came back, rolling in the victory run, you notice the kick-ass tires, thick ones in the back and thinner down in the front.

The owner, AJ Berge, starts answering questions as he talks about the fact that it’s not a Hellcat but an RT plus, and he got it in 2009, used. He used to work for Arrington Performance at the time and decided to race it, winning two championships.

He actually sold the car post that, and the new owner also won a championship in it. After he too decided to sell it, Berge decided to buy it back, at the behest of his wife.

The Fastest Dodge Charger Ever

Berge overhauled the Charger then. Now, it carries a billet 426 in tandem with a Turbo 400 ProTorque convertor. A custom set of headers from Holley and a Whipple supercharger by Dustin Whipple made sure this Charger was raring to go.

Berge says his Charger is making 1,400 horsepower or so. This is the reason why, he, as the owner, and mastermind of Hemituner Performance, became the first Charger-owner to zip down the quarter-mile in a 7-second range, at the Orlando Speed World Dragway in recent history. To be exact, the Charger ran a quarter-mile in 7.67 seconds.

What makes the win even more special is that this Charger had a stock body, and if the blower did not stick through the hood, you could even mistake it to be a sleeper. It looks just like an ordinary Charger, but it's rather extraordinary.
