Here we have, thanks to the Wheels channel on YouTube, another drag race compilation video taken at Mission Raceway Park in British Columbia, Canada.

This video is notable for two things though – apart from the good film quality – which is always a bonus – we’re looking at something fast, road legal and for the most part: unmodified.

It’s always interesting to see some races featuring machinery which you can go and buy yourself, like the Tesla Model S Plaid – if you have enough cash, of course.

Like the Plaid, this Dodge SRT Demon is an extremely quick sedan, although the latter is out of production since a few years ago.

The Dodge Demon Is A Quick And Understated Drag Car

Although it’s a drag car, this Demon looks understated compared to the competition – it has a scoop in the hood but no huge supercharger unit sitting out on top like with these trucks in the video.

The rear wheels and tires are also smaller, but there’s no mistaking the Challenger styling, and there’s a big plume of smoke as the Demon burns out before the first race.

This first race is against one of three pickups in the short video, a classic pickup with a big supercharger upfront. Dodge’s Demon makes a very quick start, leaving behind the other driver from the start and making a 9.84 time on the quarter-mile at 136 mph, beating the competition’s 11.28 at 124 mph.

Officially, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is capable of a 9.60 quarter-mile time at 140 mph, which almost gets replicated here; a lot also has to do with the driver’s reaction time too.

With a 6.2-liter V8 providing up to 840 hp and 770 lb-ft of torque, the Demon is the fastest-accelerating gasoline-powered production car, hitting 60 mph in 2.3 seconds and passing 200 mph on a long-enough stretch of asphalt.

Back to the races in the video, the next vintage circa-1940s-looking truck pops a wheelie at the green light and outpaces the Demon, although it winds back in the other truck's lead, and both finish similarly at 10.19 and 133 mph for the Dodge and 10.09 and 133 mph again for the old, modified truck.

The last race is against a '90s Dodge Ram by the looks of things, with normal wheels and a normal solid hood upfront.

In this one, a better off-the-line start by the truck goes well until the Demon starts to shine and pick up in the higher-end. The pickup wins with an 11.65 time against the Demon's 11.98, but by then the Demon is doing 123 mph – 5 mph more than the Dodge truck.
