We can only call this one of the most insane drag races ever, a turbocharged Chevy LUV truck just went up against a Dodge Demon. The video clip is on Herman Young’s YouTube channel, Demonology, and it focuses on all the demonic things his Dodge Demon can do.

Is the result expected? Well, considering the Dodge Demon is more like Conan the Barbarian, yes, we expected what happened in the video. But even so, well played, for both the Dodge Demon and the sweet little thang called LUV.

Dodge Demon Vs Chevy LUV

The Chevy LUV, bearing J&J Racing on the rear windshield, sure looked like it had gumption, never mind the slightly shabby front side panels. Done in black, it looks tiny next to the Dodge Demon. Technically, the Chevy LUV, with LUV standing for light utility vehicle, was never even American. It was a rebadged variant of the Isuzu Faster, and despite its miniature size, it still had a six-foot bed.

The hoodless Chevy LUV looks popped and pretty intimidating. The engine turns into a familiar wheeze, that of a Chevy small-block V8, and there’s a 930 CSU carburetor on it with a 106 blow-through. And it's super light, so one does expect great things to come out of the race, given the sheer curb weight of the Demon.

But the little turbo truck does not come anywhere near the Dodge Demon, despite the latter's weight disadvantage. Although, given its original inline-four engine that barely made 70 plodding horses, the LUV sure has come a long way.

But Nothing Beats The Demon

The Demon is nigh well unbeatable. It goes 0-60 MPH in 2.3 seconds flat, from a standstill. With a roll-out, the time is 2.1 seconds, making it faster than a Bugatti Chiron and a Tesla Model S Plaid.

The engine is a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 that makes an insane 840 horsepower and 770 lb-ft of torque, and sound so ludicrous, Tesla has nothing on it.

There are more than 20 major upgrades on the Demon's engine, including a bigger and a more badass 2.7-liter supercharger. There are new pistons, rods, valve train, and fuel-injection system, as well as increased boost pressure with a high RPM limit.

The Demon zips through a quarter-mile in 9.65 seconds at top speeds of 140 MPH so obviously, the Chevy LUV cannot keep up with the Demon, in a drag race, or any race for that matter.

The Demon’s owner, Herman Young, still goes up to Chevy LUV’s owner, Bob, who is more than happy to talk about his grudge truck, and how he removed the turbochargers. It may not have beat the Demon, but the Chevy LUV deserves some serious lovin'.
