Dodge will auction off the last ever Viper and Challenger Demon ever produced.

All things must come to an end. The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was always said to be a limited production edition of the Challenger, only being produced this year. The Viper factory, meanwhile, is being converted into a museum just as soon as the last of the iconic supercars walks off the line.

Rather than just hold a solemn ceremony to mark the passing of two great American muscle cars, Dodge decided to sell both of them at auction to raise money for charity, thus turning a sad occasion into one worthy of celebrating.

The last ever production Viper and Challenger Demon will be sold as a pair at Barrett-Jackson auction sometime between June 20-23 in Uncasville, Connecticut. DodgeGarage will provide further details closer to the actual auction date, and all proceeds will go toward benefiting United Way.

Last time Dodge auctioned off a Challenger it brought in $1.65 million at the 2014 Las Vegas Auction to benefit Opportunity Village Foundation. That car was the first ever 2015 Challenger Hellcat ever produced, so Dodge is hoping that a pair of the best cars they’ve ever made will at least fetch that much.

And there is a lot of car between the two of them. With a total combined horsepower of 1,485 (840 from the Demon, 645 for the Viper) these are some of the most powerful cars Dodge has ever made.

Both cars will come in their iconic Viper Red, while the Demon gets a slew of swag, including black Alcantara seats, rear seat delete, a trunk carpet kit, and a custom demon car cover. It also gets a “Demon Crate” filled with goodies, "which includes narrow front-runner drag wheels, performance powertrain control module with high-octane engine calibration, replacement switch module with high-octane button, and a set of Demon-branded track tools."

“An avid collector could search a lifetime to try to put two vehicles of this pedigree together and never find it, it’s that elusive,” said Steve Beahm, Head of Passenger Car Brands for FCA North America, in a press release. “Pairing the last Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and the Dodge Viper production cars – two of America’s most sought-after vehicles – under the roof of Barrett-Jackson gives someone the ‘last’ chance to own this unique piece of automotive history, and Dodge//SRT the opportunity to raise money for a cause close to our hearts.”
