On the same day that the Los Angeles Dodgers smoked the Tampa Bay Rays to win the World Series, a fan smoked his sedan in the worst possible way. What was intended to be a victory donut session a la NASCAR turned more into an ill-fated blooper reel highlight than a car stunt worthy of Hollywood. Or, for that matter, Netflix's auto reality show  Hyperdrive.

Ran Over Fireworks

The action was captured on Tuesday night via the Sky 9 chopper cam from CBS affiliate KCAL, which was covering all the street festivities after the Dodgers won its first Major League Baseball World Series title in 32 years. The unidentified car made its way onto an undisclosed intersection in Los Angeles and prepared to skid in donut formation.

Before the vehicle rolled into the intersection, the would-be daredevil behind the wheel may or may not have been aware of a fireworks mount in the middle of the intersection, spouting out volleys of sparkling rounds to commemorate the Dodgers' win in fiery fashion.

Sparks Became Flames

Then the erratic driver unwittingly ran over the mount and, moments later, was burning more than just rubber. Somehow the fireworks system got caught underneath the right rear of the car and seconds later, pyrotechnics began shooting in panoramic fashion as the driver continued to gleefully continue skidding.

Sparks quickly morphed into flames and within seconds the entire car was engulfed. Spectators awed by the original automobile acrobatic display quickly became concerned and dashed towards the vehicle to rescue the driver.

It turns out several other donut sessions throughout the city that night were also posted onto social media, but none as fiery as this one. There's no account of what happened to the driver or the car after the incident.
