The Chevrolet C8 Corvette shocked the world with the first-ever mid-engine version of the car. It was polarizing at first, but the performance has won over many initial critics. With the Z06 performance model coming for the 2023 model year, Chevrolet delivered yet another unique Corvette with an overhead cam 5.5-liter V-8 that produces 670 hp. The Corvette’s Quirks and Features

DeMuro starts off with the exterior of the Z06 and talks about the awesome aerodynamics of the car which give it an aggressive, performance look. His review car has the $10,000 carbon aero package. The 2023 models also have a badge that denotes the 70th anniversary of the Corvette, a cool feature to celebrate the long production run. He also mentions the widened body and huge air intakes on the car. The Corvette Z06 is a serious performance car for the track.

The interior of the new Z06 is like the base C8 Corvette. It has a driver-focused cockpit with many of the same controls. It also features many drive modes that change the performance and feel of the car, along with the gauge cluster. The interior also features a 70th anniversary plaque.

The Z06 packs near 700 horsepower and unique engine allow some serious performance numbers. It races to 60 mph in under three seconds, and DeMuro mentions that it can run a 10.5 second quarter-mile time.

Next, DeMuro takes the Corvette out on the road to see its real-world performance. He says that the C8 Corvette is already a great car to drive, and that the Z06 is harder and louder, much more performance driven. The car sounds amazing as usual and DeMuro praises the soundtrack. He also says that the naturally-aspirated V8 also makes the car even more unique in an era of more and more boosted production engines.

DeMuro loved the new Z06 and ends up giving it a DougScore of 66 which makes it the highest placing Corvette ever.
