Hypercar maker Rimac is a fantastic starting point if you like to see what Bugatti's forthcoming electric future looks like. In his typical style, YouTube video creator Doug DeMuro displays the 'quirks' of the Nevera supercar. In fact, it's a true hypercar with a power output of nearly 2,000 hp. Doug starts by reminding us that while Rimac might not be a household name like Bugatti, it will soon be. Rimac, after all, owns the majority (55%) stake in Bugatti-Rimac now. So we can anticipate several ridiculously fast cars from both brands in the future.

Complete Gamechanger In The Hypercar World

Onto the quirks and features, then. For instance, there's no key because this is a pre-production Nevera. The door doesn't lock. Getting in needs a touch of the door button concealed near the side-intake scoop. When it comes to the interior, DeMuro starts by displaying us the Start button, found on the left side of the steering wheel, and also features the gear selection; what's more remarkable, though, are the dials in the car's middle section.

Rimac has a full selection of distinct drive modes to get more range or power with customized settings. On the right side of the center stack is the torque dial, where drivers can specify how much torque goes to the front or rear motors. Then there's a small hidden dial that controls traction and stability control.

You can make your Nevera 100% front-wheel drive. No word yet on if anyone has ever endeavored that for more than just testing purposes. We speculate that rear-wheel only is much more popular.

Then Doug shows us the cameras in the Rimac. Not only can these record track laps to help you get faster, but they can do something even more impressive. The interior camera will utilize facial recognition to alter settings based on who's in the driver's seat. Of course, the Rimac also gets cup holders, apparently tested at high-speed. Now you can go sprinting with your drink safely stowed.

Then we get into some of the pre-production stuff that isn't finalized. The infotainment system looks like it'll be incredible once completed. Right now, just the touchscreen works and has many unique features. Below that, a touchpad and a joystick/volume knob but are currently non-functional. Once done, all these options should make life more manageable in the Nevera.

More importantly, the Nevera is quite functional as a hypercar. Doug looks delighted to get behind the wheel, which is a lot, regarding he doesn't adore driving everything he reviews. So, of course, he starts with nailing the accelerator pedal and is completely shocked. It goes to extraordinary speed instantly, but it doesn't stop accelerating even after that. That experience is going to change the game, according to Doug. It doesn't matter what people love or want if speed is essential; cars like the Nevera will take over. They're too fast not to.
