In the second episode of its web series that premiered today, Ducati gave a detailed look at its sporty XDiavel techno cruiser, as well as the XDiavel Dark, which boasts a totally black (and eye-catching) livery. Both Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali and Design Director Andrea Ferraresi take viewers through a tour of the cruiser and highlight its design, specs, and other notable details including the XDiavel's homage to the past.

The Historical Significance Of Matte Black For Ducati

The matte black color is more than just a slick looking finish, however, as Ferraresi notes that it all started back in 1998 with the Ducati Monster 600 Dark. Not only does the color cover the XDiavel Dark's body, but it also extends to its mechanics, giving it a true all blacked out appearance. Ferraresi further draws attention to the bike's design itself as it features a fully visible engine, belt final drive, and a muscular teardrop-shaped tank when viewed from the side.

Another highlight for all XDiavel models is the new silencer and engine mapping that increases the horsepower by 8, bringing the maximum power output to 160 at 9,500 rpm, and max torque of 7.23 lb-ft at 5,000 rpm.

The episode also touches on the new Scrambler. If you want to catch up on the web series before watching this new one, the first episode covered Ducati's new Multistrada V4 and there are still three episodes left on the calendar (premiering November 18, November 25, December 2).
